In Jasper National Park, the wolves, Kate and Humphrey, have known each other since puppyhood, but they are on the oppose ends of the Western Pack's social structure with Kate as the energetic Alpha daughter of the pack leader and Humphrey being the good humoured Omega. That social structure forces Kate to accept an arranged marriage with Garth of the Eastern Pack to unite the packs for peace, regardless of Humphrey's hopeless attraction for her. Before that union can occur, Kate and Humphrey are captured by the park's rangers and sent to an Idaho park as part of a wolf repopulation project. Mindful of her duties, Kate is determined to return to Jasper and Humphrey offers to help with the assistance of two odd geese. However, as this disparate pair struggle through the dangers to get home, a growing mutual appreciation of their talents and then a deeper love threatens to disastrously complicate everything if they make it back. Ahh!
Humphrey:
Ahh!
Kate:
Ahh!
[Grunt's in disgust]
Humphrey:

Where's Barf?
Kate:
It's Garth, and we're just taking a little break.
Humphrey:
A break?
Kate:
What, is that so strange?
Humphrey:
No, no, no no no, are you kidding? I always like to take a break, ten minutes into a howl.
Kate:
Well I do!

I am going to start off by stating that if you are someone who expects an animation movie to be realistic with all of the laws of nature being abided by along with legendary graphics, then Alpha and Omega is NOT the movie for you.
When I first saw this movie on the TV trailers, I immediately thought to myself, "I want to go see that movie." I knew this because my favorite types of movies are animation movies. I didn't know however that it was going to be as entertaining as it was. I figured it would be just like any ordinary little kids movie with the romance theme, but it was anything but that at the end of the films duration.
Now other reviews state that the movie is awful, poorly done, cheap, unrealistic, and most of all a waste of time. These people fall into the category of people with no imagination. Now the first thing I would thing someone would think of when they hear, Animated Movie, is 'imagination', real world attributes. If people think animation movies are unrealistic then they better discount any other movie they have seen, such as transformers, terminator, or even avatar, because the fact is that no movie is realistic. Besides, isn't that the point of an animation? To take you away from reality? That is the reason animations are my favorite, you don't have to worry about the laws of physics or any of that stuff because it is 'animated', you can just let your mind wander.
Alpha and Omega is one of the greatest cliché movies I have seen. I have watched it more than 20 times in a row night after night. This movies may not have the graphics but it makes up for it in adventure. It is about two wolves, one an alpha (Kate), and another an omega (Humphrey), who have two completely different personalities, who both get stuck on an adventure together
Also I have read that people heard 'potty humor' in the movie, and that is why they don't like the movie. Give me a break, the humor in this movie is no more inappropriate than The Lion King, Shrek, or Toy Story. The people who complain about the humor have no free mind and are at this point looking for any reason to discredit the movie. Not to mention the fact that there are only a few so called 'potty moments', which made me laugh, and I am 18 years old. To be honest, I know a young child will not get the 'potty' jokes but will perceive it completely different.
Now what is preventing me from giving this movie a 10 out of 10 is the fact that most people are correct when they say there are plot holes, and many of them. For one there are still some questions in my mind as to why things happened, and I have watched this movie 20 times in 20 days. This is not only frustrating, but it is also disappointing because I really enjoyed this movie and did not want to give it anything short of a perfect score.
Another reason I gave it an 8 is because while you find out about Kate's background, you never really find out about Humphrey. Humphrey just seems to have appeared there. I would have loved to see his parents or at least a sibling of his. The same thing with the the rival alpha male (Tony), leader of the eastern wolves, he is never shown with his 'wife' or Alphess.
I am just being honest with my review, but don't let anything bad that has been said about this movie influence you in watching it, make your own opinions and eliminate the bias out of your mind. For all the bad reviews, there sure are a lot of good reviews to this movie, so it goes to show that it is a pure toss up to who is going to like it, maybe even love it. For me it is the only movie I have ever watched over 20 times in a row.
All I can say now is sit back and enjoy the adventure, because it goes fast and at the end you will be upset that it is over, and if not then remember you'll either like it or you won't.
