In what appears to be a cross between Critters and The Towering Inferno, the residents of a shoddy L.A. apartment block are chased up to the roof by hoards of the eponymous hairy horrors. Written by Ross Horsley <ics6rh@leeds.ac.uk>
David J Schow who wrote screenplays for A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 5: The Dream Child and Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III describes his style as 'splatterpunk'. It's a term he coined for himself. I describe him as the 'hack' who wrote Critters 3 and 4. A family traveling through the critters infested town of Grover's Bend are warned by a strange man (series staple Charlie played by Don Keith Opper) to clear out but not before crite eggs have attached themselves to the bottom of the car which is headed back to the city. Soon the tenement is swarming with the deadly Gremlin wannabes. Future star Leonardo DiCaprio made his film debut in this sub par horror adventure.
