I was soo disappointed when I saw this movie! With such a good cast and it being a Karan Johar film and all I was expecting a Hindi cinema classic! Drama! But nooo, it was basically a sleazy-cheesy-sex comedy, turning serious for 2 minutes at a time.
Hindi cinema should stick to more traditional stories, there's enough crap in Hollywood.
The highlight of the movie was the doom 2 and Kabul express promos! Sharukh looked just gorgeous but his acting was nothing special. I think Amitabh and Rani made the biggest fools of themselves. (amitabh was an old sleaze bag really, and Rani in the little sexy outfit, god, it was ridicules! So cheesy!).
All the crude comedy part was just so unnecessary! Hindi cinema is getting to influenced by the west. Anyways, the movie is just not what I was expecting at all! I was also surprised with a couple of scenes in the movie. I know those cheap new actors do all that kind of stuff, but Shahrukh and Rani! And the whole "affair theme" just doesn't suit Hindi cinema. There wasn't even a real story line to the movie, no moral, nothing. I have to agree 100% with the comment made by AJ(shown below)
Author: A J from United States I strongly advise everybody not to watch this movie called 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna'.
I personally was a fan of Karan Johar and used to admire all his movies but not anymore.(after seeing this movie.)
KANK is a completely unpractical, unethical and 'makes-no-sense' movie.
Karan Johar talks about Love and Relationships? Does he even know the meaning of a relationship? He has made a joke out of it.
If movies like these get encouragement, I think Indian movies will lose their traditional and cultural values. Moreover, it might also affect the society adversely. I even think this movie is dangerous. I am surprised how come such a good star cast even agreed to do this pathetic story!!!
