After watching the excellent film Dance of the Dead,I had interest in finding out if the very promising talent Gregg Bishop had directed any other movie before and, during a visit to IMDb,I found out the existence of a previous movie of him called The Other Side. Then, investigating on another websites,I saw the excellent commentaries the movie had received. After that,I decided to look for the film and a few days later,I could finally see it.The Other Side is a movie I liked very much and Bishop, with this film and Dance of the Dead, has become in one of the most promising new talents.According to him,the budget of this movie was of only 15,000 dollars but the final result is so good that the film deserves admiration for achieving so much with so little. It's easy to note the low-budget but the ambitious story, the creative direction and the extraordinary action sequences show all the talent Bishop has, taking the maximum advantage of his minimum resources.I want to back to mention the action scenes because they do not only result enormously exciting but they are also much better made than a lot of action scenes we see on Hollywood films. The only fail I found on this movie is Nathan Mobley as the main character. His performance is a bit cold. But,that fail is completely understandable.Bishop needed an actor who had to combine physical ability and histrionic talent and although his election was not completely successful,I have seen that fail on millionaire Hollywood productions (for example,The Punisher-2004-),so it's difficult to speak against an independent director because he could not get Will Smith or Brad Pitt for his small movie. The Other Side has an excellent main premise which is developed very well. The final experience from this movie is fascinating and enormously entertaining. The Other Side is an excellent movie which I totally recommend because I had a great time watching it.With Dance of the Dead and this movie,Bishop has become in one of the most promising new talents and I hope to see more movies directed by him in the future.
