![]() The first event of our trip to the east coast was cousin Shelley's wedding. The wedding was held at Andrew's Airforce Base as both bride and groom are officers. I got to carry up the gifts at the wedding, which surprised me because I've always been convinced that Shelley hates me. My mom did her best to cramp my style, but Angel and I managed to have a good time. |
![]() After the wedding Angel and I spent two days staying at Brendon and Allison's place. We walked around the mall; which is what the area around the Capital and White House is called even though there are no stores. We played some football catch while the protests were going on in the background. We got to visit Brendon's office and I saw first hand where the corruption occurs. |
![]() On Tuesday, we rented a car and drove to Boston to visit Tim and Shannon. Angel and I were pretty bad about taking a lot of pictures on this trip. We didn't even get one with Brendon and Allison. We almost forgot to get one with Tim and Shannon; and Angel and I had already changed into our casual evening wear. |
![]() On Wednesday we made the commute into Boston. We walked on the Freedom Trail, a walking path through Boston. We headed to a pier, and relaxed by the waterfront. |
![]() We met with Tim for lunch. We dined at the oldest restaurant in America, Ye Old Oysterhouse. I got this big salad with crab cakes in it. Delish. |
![]() After hours of walking, we reached the end of the Freedom Trail, and we were rewarded with this statue, which Angel seems to have found quite interesting. We took the train home with Tim when he was done with work. That night we went out to a fancy type seafood place, and we had a few Mai Tais and a bonanza of delicious seafood. The next morning Angel and I again took the train into Boston and we got on a bus and headed for New York City to visit Andy and Rachel. |
![]() As you can see, Andy is sporting quite a look. He had a respectable beard, but shaved it when we got there. Andy and Rachel live in Jersey City, in the former Dixon Ticonderoga pencil factory; nice place. On Thursday night we went out to Chevy's for some Mexican food and margaritas. |
![]() On Friday headed to see some of the sights of New York. Friday night Angel and I went to see La Bohem, some kind of Italian Opera about some French dudes. I enjoyed it, and there were subtitles in English so I could tell what was going on. |
![]() We did so much walking, it was so nice to have a seat. |
![]() On Saturday, Andy and Rachel took us on a little tour Andy cooked up. Its a white trash free tour Andy has coined, the booze cruz. We took a ride on the Staten Island ferry. Its nice, it gets near the Statue of Liberty, and one can purchase large cans of Budweiser. |
![]() The trip was great. It ended a little bit on the rough side. Angel got some food poisoning on Saturday night and was out of commission. When we got back on Sunday afternoon, it was time for Eliot and I to move into out new apartment. I had most everything packed, but I can attest that the last thing one should ever do after getting back from a vacation is to move. On Monday I woke up early, and discovered that I also got a batch of the food poisoning. |
