The memorial to Fabio Casartelli on the Portet d'Aspet. He was killed in a crash in the Tour de France in 1995, descending the Portet d'Aspet (going the opposite direction than we were). I could easily see how a crash could happen -- it's a very steep, technical descent, with lots of dark shade that would make it harder to see. And lots of horrible concrete block barriers to crash into...
