If your title says 'Complete Reference'.....

I bought it for reference. I open it when I want some help but not to read cover to cover. I wanted to learn more about the new Access Data Project feature - not a single word. Went back to it to learn more about ADO database connections nothing. Now if it was called 'Getting Started' or 'Some Stuff About Access' I wouldn't have bought it or I wouldn't be complaining.

    Good book for beginners

This was a very easy to read book. Clear examples, with crisp writing. Lots of diagrams and screen shots. This was a great place for a novice to start.

This book looked good when I bought it!

This book doesn't give enough examples. It is too wordy with out enough step by step information. Unless you read the book cover to cover you will not beable to understand the book at all. Unless the tutorial on the cd relates directly to your project you will have trouble fallowing the book. The book sould explain a little better on how to edit a data base while other people are using it and how password protect every thing. Maybe it is just me but I am having trubles fallowing the tutorials and referancing material. I do not have time to read the book cover to cover but unless I do with this book I will be lost.

    Better Then Average

The book is great if you have working knowledge of Excel or some Access or report writing experience. It utilizes all of the functions that Access is used for in business which is a great addition. If you have never used Access or been exposed to a database environment you might need to buy a Computer Dictionary to help you through it. But if you can get through this book from cover to cover you will be an Access expert for sure!
