    Amateur

I just bought this book and haven't been able to put it down since. It is very well written and tailored to the novice. All that's really needed is an interest and very general VB6 knowledge.

To Learn from the beginning, start at the beginning

this book does just what a beginner needs it to do. Even if you have some experience with Visual Basic, but not much with databases it will teach you almost as much as a 3 credit course.

    Money Well Spent--- VB6 Student

I have purchased a number of learning books, some have been helpful, some not so helpful. I purchased this book because of the reviews I read above. I would have given this book Six Stars, but there are a few minor problems. If you have had an introduction to Visual Basic Programming Great, if not, you may have trouble understanding some of this book. There were some problems with the code, some of it does not work. However, the sample code provided by the book's companion web site does have the fixes, so don't get discouraged. This is a fairly large book, 800 + pages full of examples, descriptions and illustrations. If you want to learn how to create databases using VB 6.0 and provide professionally designed user interfaces (forms) with reusable code for the users of those databases this is a great book. This author takes you beyond beginning and is very generous to provide expert advice and insight into business/database application including making your newly designed databases available on the web. You do not have to buy anything else. If you have a computer with an Internet connection running Windows and have VB 6.0 installed and you do the lessons you will learn a great deal if you are a beginner. I'm very glad I have this book it is worth every penny and every hour of time that I have spent with it.

By far the best book I've read on any VB topic

I am new to database programming and have been looking for a book that teaches everything that a beginner needs to know. This book is hands down the best that I've ever read on any computer topic. So far, all of the examples that are given in the book have worked (which is unusual in computer books) and a lot of the questions that I had about databases have been answered. A must-have for anyone new to database programming!!!!!!Well written.
