    Save Your Time, Money

From my experience the 'Dummies' guides are well written, cohesive, and concise. This text is none of these. The guide is a collaborative effort of three qualified experts on the subject, however their cumulative experience comes together like oil and water. The otherwise readable and even helpful chapters do not flow well between topics, jumping awkwardly between demo examples without explanation. To further complicate the reader consider this: A large section relies on one of the author's personal webpages to demonstrate certain functions, however an attempt to access these URL's reveals expired/defunct pages. In short, this guide is done in by its own disorganization. Readers must suffer through poorly designed demonstration models to reveal the occasional pearls. Dig around for a better Coldfusion resource and spare yourself some frustration.

Not up to the usual standards

I've always found the Dummies book as a whole to be very clear and easy to understand, especially for someone new to the field. However, this book is not at all helpful.New snippets of code are displayed without any reference as to where they go in the actual program. The Book assumes that you know the basics of Cold Fusion , it is not for a beginner. In addition, the CD-Rom does not have the programs and code like most of the books. This was a waste of my money
