Step by Step Office Access 2007

I am a new Access user. I thought the book would be a lot more helpful than it was. Yes, it did give some helpful hints but I would like to see a true step by step projects set up like an invoice, a cash report, and a single label. There are times I need to print just 1 single label and even after using the label wizard, nothing would print. Access is not user friendly.

    I Also Recommend:

Step by Step, Microsoft Office Access 2007

This is an excellent book for learning and improving skills in Access 2007. This book will allow you to learn and practice most of the skills you'll need to become an accomplished Access database user. The reader is able to practice many actions and the repetitive exercises will help the user become better and retain more of the database functions. This book may not be for the novice, but someone with a good idea of software, especially Microsoft Office, can pick up a solid working knowledge of Access using this book. An experienced IT person should be able to understand the ideas and become very familiar with Access quite easily from using this book.
The size and clarity make the book much more useful for everyday tasks. It is an excellent desktop reference and its clear and easily understood language and helpful examples make it useful for explaining Access concepts. The exercises on the CD can be used to show novices how the database stores and handles information.
This is a superb reference book for IT professionals and Access 2007 users.

    Nook version is broken

Nook version refers to a CD which is included in a pocket of the back cover. Of course the Nook version has not such pocket or CD. I did find a note that the same material as in the CD could be found online as well. But the link provided was bad. So, the book was more of a theft of my money than a purchase by me.

    Still need to finish it....

So far this has been an enlightening book as to how to use this program to its fullest potential. all I can say is that I am reading it as I am working on a project, so far so good.

    Recommended, but not ebook version

I purchased the ebook version and while the content is quite good, the ebook is just too cumbersome to navigate. I use this primarily as a reference and trying to find a specific detail subject is difficult, requiring an inordinate amount of scrolling and awkward searching. I ended up buying a paperback copy by a different author to facilitate page scanning - sometimes you just don't know the right technical name and have to flip through various sections in search of what you need.

    A good book for beginners

I have never used ACCESS before. I spent one night on
this book and then found that I can work with ACCESS well.
For beginners with some database knowledges, this book is
    a good choice.
