The necessary tool for connecting to a database!

This book is a good tool for anyone seeking to link their application to any data source, specifically in this case, a database. No matter what the database, this book has the lessons necessary for you to begin pulling the data you need. While I have not created any applications large enough to deal with too much layering, this book will also teach you methods of separating your data access layer from your business logic of your application.
Another very beneficial aspect of this book is its positioning of its text and figures/code. Have you ever hated reading a block of text only to have it point to an example that is not on the current page? You end up flipping forwards or backwards in an awkward attempt to link the diagram with what the text is saying. This book strives to put the text on the left page and the examples on the right. That makes for a great reading experience!
I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to link their application to a database to pull and update data.
