For a book with 1350+ pages, I expected MUCH more content and simplified syntax. Instead, all of the content is vague with weak examples. Many topics are simply mentioned in a glossary-like listing at the end of the book, but have no supporting detail. The book does come with a CD containing a PDF of the entire book... well, not quite. They left out the INDEX!!! So, yes you can do a search for whatever you're looking for, but try something like 'variable' and you'll get a million hits before getting to the section you're looking for. Another thing, you CANNOT copy/paste from the PDF -- copyright protection disables that functionality in the PDF. I found that the FREE guides on Oracle's website are more informative and complete than this book -- and yes, they are FREE, come in PDF, and allow you to copy/paste out of them. Look elsewhere for a good reference -- this is not it.
