"[The B.A. in mathematics program] is designed to provide
students with a background in mathematical statistics. The mathematics
courses required are basic courses necessary to enable a person to gain
employment as a statistician in business or government, or to pursue
graduate study in statistics. These courses are also necessary for students
wishing to pursue careers in the actuarial field."
