Another Summer at Argonne
Back to the main picture page

Opening weekend of the College World Series.

Our tailgate...just look for the biggest flag in the parking lot. Texas Corner.
The Fajita King. Notice the traffic patrol hard at work...(yes, he's directing traffic with a fajita).
A shot of Texas' first game against Arkansas. Huston posing (only when someone's on base, which isn't often).
The hooding ceremony for Arkansas. Dad playing taps at the ceremony.
Inside Rosenblatt during Texas vs. Georgia.

My first weekend in Chicago I stayed with my roommate Carol (thanks Carol!).

Shots from the pride parade.

On-site pictures of Argonne National Laboratory.

A stunning sunset... and rainbow all on the same evening.
The infamous white deer.

There were a bunch of really strong storms that moved through the area this summer...

The debris from a tree that got hit by lightning outside our apartment complex.

Fish Fest at Grays Lake.

The group that went. The venue.
Skillet rocked the hardest!!!! John Cooper. That guy with the girl and the sign sang every word while pumping his fist--a true fan!
Audio Adrenaline (the lead singer is in the crowd in the red shirt) Jars of Clay.

I did quite a bit of biking on my mountainbike. This first set is my 57+ mile trip to Highland Park to visit my roommate from Argonne last year.

An interesting Ukraine Catholic Church. Me and Melody. We went to an Italian restaurant and the band was most excellent (Melody's dad is on the drums).

My longest ride was to Geneva (74+ miles).

Chicagoland has some beautiful forest preserves. Passing a small airport.
This was a really neat new windmill on the Fox River Trail just south of Batavia.

I rode up to Glencoe to spend another weekend at Carol's.

I went by way of the CTA at Midway. Melody tried to tell me that Lou Malnati's is better than Giordano's, but after sampling it here with Robin, Carol, Brian, and Melody I still think Giordano's is better.

The last week at any intership is always busy...

A bunch of Argonne people (from left to right--Sarah, me, Julie, Carol, Ashleigh, Travis, and Martin) at Giordano's. Jackie's second visit to Chicago--we also ended up at a Giordano's (action shot!).
The "bean" at Millenium Park. Mike and Jake feeding the baby ducks--watch out for your fingers!
