Initial Findings
We found that people of different heights and body proportions were incapable of re-creating another users password, and with the thresholding algorithm we implemented the user was able to easily re-create their password. These initial findings suggest that with further work and testing this could become a very viable option in the near future especially when you consider that IR depth sensors (or some other form of obtaining depth information at the time an image is taken) should become relatively commonplace in cameras in the next 10 years.
Future Improvements
- Incorporate facial recognition to prevent unathorized users with similar body proportions from re-creating another users password. This can be done using the Kinect
- Add encryption to protect the feature vector when it is store on a computer
- Explore the kinects ability to extract other biometrics from the user
