To become a Computer Science Major: Step 1: Take CS 302: Introduction to Java Programming What if I already have transfer or AP credit for CS 302? What if I already know how to program but don't have credit for CS 302? Step 2: Take CS 367: Introduction to Data Structures What if I already have transfer or AP credit for CS 302 and CS 367? What if I know how to program data structures but don't have credit for CS 367? Step 3: Take CS 240 (also called Math 240): Introduction to Discrete Mathematics Note: You can take CS 240 while you are taking CS 302 or CS 367. If your average GPA in CS 302, CS 367, and CS 240 is a 2.6 or higher, you may declare the CS major. If your average GPA is below 2.6, you can raise your GPA with one more eligible CS course.
