My Name
Although it resembles an English word, my last name rhymes with "mild".
About Me
I am a third year Ph.D. student in computer science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
I grew up in Durham, North Carolina.
I have a younger brother at Grinnell College.
My father teaches mathematics at Durham School of the Arts and my mother is Director of Local Relations for UNC at Chapel Hill.
Education
I did my undergraduate work at Carleton College and have B.A. degrees in computer science and mathematics.
My computer science senior project was Learning Through Gaming, a study of the design of educational games for young children.
My mathematics senior project was Representations of the Symmetry Group of Spacetime and explored the abstract group representations of spacetime and how they relate to observable physical qualities such as quantum spin.
A copy of that paper is available here.
