Alpha 3.4.2: Bug Fixes (Part III)

Hi Galactic Survivalists,

We have just released our final round of bug fixes before the next major update of Empyrion.

Changelog: Alpha 3.4.2 (Build 620)

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed: Problem that tags of Bases, POI and Vessels did not vanish when Core was destroyed (structures with 0 blocks will now be removed completely and also their tags on map)
- Fixed: Duplicate exploit in MP related to containers when opening and closing very fast
- Fixed: Black screen problem with blood overlay/damage effect
- Fixed: Drone Base still spawns drones even if Alien Core destroyed
- Fixed: Resuming a game sometimes shows "congrats you have disabled the drone base, there will be no more drone attacks" message
- Fixed: Survival Constructor Item on all planets and orbits visible
- Fixed: Turrets on some bases (e.g. drone base Xenu P1 on Masperon) shooting through terrain in SP and MP
- Fixed: Vessels sometimes flip over when landed on a planet with thrusters still activated
- Fixed: Capital vessels lose steering ability sometimes (CV sometimes suddenly turn extremely slow when using mouse. They sometimes don't even react to using the arrow keys anymore. This can only be resolved by hitting Q/E and dragging the mouse simultaneously.)
- Fixed: HV issues: Shift-Space will get HV stuck in any material ceiling - if you accidentally or on purpose use the Shift-Space jump of a HV in a room with a ceiling that is too low, you will get stuck/glued to the blocks (either steel or terrain)
- Fixed: HV: Boost-Jump still available when Hover Engine removed
- Fixed: Console Spam with error message: "Attempting to update a disabled Reflection Probe. Action will be ignored."
- Fixed: Bottom of randomly placed POIs may have negative y coordinate, therefore teleporting player back to surface when accessing lower levels of POI
- Fixed: Drone bases sometimes spawn below / in a lake
- Fixed: Ships that were built into up direction, getting incorrectly teleported up
- Fixed: Jetpack Exploit: Permanent fly around on planet like a SV (MP/SP)
- Fixed: “SubjectKilled” does not trigger in SP
- Fixed: Mission “No Man on the moon” does not trigger / wrong check
- Fixed: Wrong Asset: Pyramid crystals on Aitis regrow as straight crystals

Changes / Improvements:
- Offline protection shield is now impermeable from both sides
- Player drone can now be spawned when flashlight is equipped
- Pressing horizontal alignment button "O" in space now allows alignment with default space plane
- Alien Humanoid Insect (Akua) is now in Predator faction

About This Game

Empyrion - Galactic Survival is a 3D open world space sandbox survival adventure. Build mighty ships, menacing space stations and vast planetary settlements to explore, conquer or exploit a variety of different planets and the allegedly empty space! Fight human, alien and biological hazards and survive in a hostile galaxy full of hidden dangers - on your own or with your friends. The game uniquely combines elements from space simulations, construction games, survival games and ego-shooters. Empyrion is currently under development by Eleon Game Studios.

Space and Planet Exploration:

An absolute free-roaming experience awaits you: warp between planets, fly from planet to moons, land on planets and freely walk around to explore your surroundings. Discover the secrets of the Aliens and tangle with the native fauna and flora. A sandbox full of different, vivid planets waiting for you to explore!

Solar System and Open World:

The solar system is procedurally generated and features several planets and POIs. Each planet has its own characteristics (planet type, gravity, atmosphere, number of moons, terrain, surface, vegetation, climate, and resources).

Building and Construction:

Build large capital vessels, small fighters or exceptional space and planetary bases by yourself - or download a blueprint from the Steam Workshop and customize it with your very own ideas of form and function!

Survival Mode:

Get out of your escape pod, grab what's left from your ship and prepare to survive in a hostile environment. Food and oxygen are rare, resources are scarce, ammo is low and dangers lurk around each and every corner. Keep your eyes open. You need to be well prepared if you want to survive more than a day on an alien planet far away from Earth.

Creative Mode:

Just build and make your crazy dreams come true, without having to bother with food, resources or enemies. Join the Creative Community and upload your creations to the Steam Workshop!

Singleplayer and Multiplayer

Play as a lone wolf in singleplayer or join the multiplayer community: Make yourself a comfortable home in a well-protected PvE area or pick up some friends, head out and beat the permanent dangers of PvP planets to ransack their riches or conquer the solar system with your faction.

Wildlife and Enemies:

Don't get mislead by the peaceful fauna of some planets and the silence in space. Most of the animal wildlife wants to snack on your leg - and aggressive robot drones, alien soldiers and their guardians will try to hunt you down as soon as you are within sight. Watch your six and deploy a range of weapons for your defence.

Mining and Resource Gathering:

For building and construction, you need to gather and mine resources. Dig down to the rich deposits of a planet or drill through an asteroid full of rare ore. You might also plunder alien buildings or scrap any structure you come across.

Extensive Crafting System:

Learn how to combine resources and building materials to craft your equipment. Craft your stuff in your base or while you are on the move and equip your buildings and vessels with a range of different devices, weapons and gadgets for different purposes.

Hunting, Farming and Food System:

Grow your own vegetables and fruits or hunt creatures for their meat to prepare yourself a delicious meal. Some plants help to create medical supplies while others can be picked up and consumed for first aid or to quickly settle your empty stomach.

Experience and Tech Tree:

Do whatever you want - and gain experience points for doing so! Scrap that old stuff and use the points to unlock those shiny new devices in the Techtree.

Terrain Deformation:

Each planet features a voxel-based terrain. You can entirely modify and deform the terrain: flatten it for your planetary station, dig holes to find resources or build a tunnel system to protect yourself. Empyrion is a true sandbox game!

This game is one of the best crafting and survival games I've played, and I have played most of them.

You actually get a great feeling of accomplishment the first time you go into space.

The base and ship building in this game is awesome, especially using blueprints to save your design and downloading others from the workshop.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes open work crafting/survival.

Space Engineers too hard for ya?
Your Computer is too crappy for Space Engineers?
Want better survival system than Space Engineers?
Empyrion is the right game for ya!
...
Anyway Empyrion is in earlier state than Space Engineers so don't expect realistic damage model.. realistic sounds.. and something like that. If you make huge hole in ship it doesnt disconnect its still somehow magically connected so.. Yeah
Empyrion has very nice RPG mechanics.. Research.. Levels.. EXPs etc
Its fun to raid enemy NPC base trust me.. Though i died and raged like 1000x times..
Its really good game! You won't regret it!

If you're looking for a fun, rewarding, and mostly relaxing universe you can get lost in for endless hours look no further. I've been a fan of this genre since Minecraft but this is far above and beyond.

My Buddy bought this for me on sale, he had had it for a week, and it was like listening to a Fangirl go on about her favorite BL story in her favorite Manga. My hair is now in braids and you can call me a Empyrion Fudanshi. If the Devs keep this up, I'll be dressed like a Loli carrying a wand, yelling "Empyrion Power attack!"

What the hell happened to this game? Over half the servers I join I get an internal error and the other half my friends all have problems whether it be sound or some fatal driver error. Items disappearing (like mini bike right away). Most servers I go on (I look for highest pop and work my way down) I see people complaing non stop about blueprint vessels dissappearing on spawn, I thought that problem was fixed. I used to really love this game but it's almost gotten unplayable with the amount of bugs and errors that not just me but I see a lot of people get :(

Better than Space Engineers in gameplay and playability, worse in graphics.

I played enough of Space Engineers to know Empyrion is better.

I have played this game in early alpha I believe it was 1.4 or so, and I really enjoyed how much stuff I could do and explore.

I like ability to have own server etc, and I understand it is still in alpha version. but it has room to improve ...

What I do not like is missing VOIP, and lack of "nice" graphics (I am reffering to genre similar game called Osiris), I dont know if it is more robotics look, or better looking FOG (in Empyrion things look detailed even in far distance like there was no atmosphere at all), or it is just more shiny or how to tell it. also some gravity or physics sometimes still behave weirdly, but that could be just alpha version problem.

Overall I can recommend it, it is worth hours of entertaiment.

I absolutely adore this game, even in its current state. The developers are extremely active with adding new features and listening to the community. The soundtrack is awesome. The ability to build a ship however you want is amazing. There's a lot to love about building a massive capital vessel that you completely designed yourself and seeing it finally come to fruition, rumbling ahead under its own power while three dozen guns annihilate anyone and anything that comes near it.

10/10 would conquer solar system again

I LOVE the concept of this game! it's just a fun wholesome sci-fi / futuristic survival experience!

The map function (hitting M) is fantastic!
The crafting is in depth
It has dinosaurs! (can never go wrong there)
FPS combat with designated PvP and PvE Planets

Cons:
The quality of the graphics, terrain, trees, overall environment is not up to par with other modern games
Everything is made with blocks, I think if the items were skinned in a more professional manor it would increase the immersion aspect.
The motor bike is clunky to ride and you are not able to look around
The controls are non-standard (like you have to hit TAB for inventory instead of i)
PvP and PvE mechanics need more depth..

Overall I enjoy playing and will update this review as I go, but in it's current state I can't recommend it to others because I don't think it meets some of the basic modern graphic and game play standards. I will continue playing and update this review if/when the game designer implments some of the needed changes to make this game compettive with more modern titles out there.

Got to say if you liked space engineers and building games in general this game is brilliant...We are currently playing on a very decent server called SKYcmd with good admins and decent ping..The game itself you can build anything you can think of and the pvp is decent and adrenaline packed...If you like space oriented games this is for you 9/10
