About This Game

Giant Machines 2017 enables you to control seven of the biggest industrial machines ever created on Earth. They will introduce you into the world of hissing hydraulic systems, excavator buckets and the smell of diesel.

Unlike contemporary simulators, the 14 main missions are all part of one story. The goal is to send a space shuttle to the International Space Station. Your tasks will be, among others:
• To crush mountains,
• To move tons of earth,
• To cut metal constructions
• To mine radioactive ores,
• And to transport (rock, ore, machines… and even a space shuttle!!)

Our machines have the following features:
• Accurately recreated cockpits and models,
• Completely analog controls of actuators and cranes,
• Full physics simulation (no cutting corners!).

Your campaign takes place in 6 different geographical localizations: Greenland, Canada, Wyoming, Missouri and Florida. Thanks to a detailed depiction of the machines, you will be able to appreciate the magnitude of those beasts (compared to a human, a car and buildings placed on the map). You can also explore the machine in first person perspective; the wide view from the cockpit will immerse you in the world of really heavy machinery.

An alternate gameplay mode is Time Attack. It is unlocked after you complete the story mode (campaign), and is comprised of selected missions. The rewards for completing a mission in a set time are bronze, silver and gold medals, and your entry into the high scores.

Your hunger for knowledge will be satiated by the Machine Library. This small encyclopedia with 3D models will broaden your knowledge of the biggest machines man has ever built. Technical parameters and performance data included.

Machines available in Giant Machines 2017:
• Bagger – a giant among giants – a machine capable of tearing down mountainsides
• Crawler – a standard transport platform… for space shuttles
• Demolition – a demolition machine – for cutting steel pipes and massive scaffoldings
• Bulldozer – indispensable when you have a couple tons of earth/snow or minor objects to move
• Dumper – good for those times when you need to move a whole week’s worth of mine output
• Digger – as the name implies, it digs in rocks – both horizontally and vertically
• Car crane – moving several tons of containers was never this easy!

My name is Alex, I am from Belarus!
I am making hardcore letsplay videos handsfree (using only my chin).
I have a program that allows to assign keyboard controls to mouse movements.
I played your game, it's very good, I liked it.

World's Largest Industrial Machines Simulator
https://youtu.be/4TGa3Hj0MZc
+ Gameplay is great fun (for a simulator) and most objectives are not too grindy or time consuming. You are essentially the operator for a number of very LARGE machines and must do a variety of tasks such as mining, plowing, hauling, cutting, transporting, and so fourth.
+ Each mission is tied together to the ultimate goal of launching a space shuttle which I found to be very rewarding and makes you actually want to progress.
+ Controls are fantastic! Most simulators are so complicated, but this game makes everything easy to understand and learn without feeling any frustration. (I used a Xbox controller)
+ The sense of scale with these behemoth machines is thrilling, they are all HUGE
+ Every vehicle has a radio with a fantastic playlist of songs / channels to listen to while you play. (this truly does add a lot to the game)
+ Visually the game looks great with a number of areas to visit each wither their own unique environment.
+ The physics and ground deformation is rather amazing and really makes the game feel realistic.
+ Some parts are rather challenging. There's one section where you have to transport the space shuttle to the launch station using a large moveable platform crawler. You have to adjust the pitch of the platform while moving to avoid the space shuttle from tilting and falling off. This was so difficult, but at the same time so rewarding when I finally finished.
+ Plenty of content. You may think "only 14 missions?" there's plenty here to keep you entertained for hours.

- Sometimes objectives are overly long and a bit tiresome to complete.
- I noticed the two "Missiouri" missions were almost copy / pasted as both include you transporting a hauling truck through tornados. I wish they would have changed it up as I did not like playing the same thing twice.
- The ending is terrible and horribly lazy. The developers just put a IRL video of a space shuttle taking off...could have just watched that on Youtube...

One of the most creative simulators you will find. Every mission is unique and fun. Lots of Giant machines to ride and most of them have alot of interactive elements on them. I really recommend this game for everyone.

If you like giant machines and sims, buy this game. Machines are large and interactive. Physics arent the best, but good enough. Also, if you have trouble at the shuttle section, take your time! Make sure the ground percent and the platform percent cancel each other out.

I recommend this game to those who have a spare few hours on a arcade game with big machines in it.
It is not a simulator, the physics are stupid and the machines doesnt work as they would IRL.
But the idea is good and if they were to really make a simulator it could be really good.

Great game, great price point, great potential.

As an avid sim gamer I really enjoyed the change of pace of this basic sim and would love to see the devs keep up the hard work and move this towards a full sim.

Pros:
+operating some machines requires a lot of skill!
+different vehicles / machines,
+unique locations,
+radio stations,
+redneckish narration:)

Cons:
-some tasks are repetive (plus for hardcore simulation fans),
-gameplay could be a bit longer.

Overall: game is better than average 20 USD game.

Giant Machines 2017 is what happens when someone really good at game dev has a brilliant idea, works on it for a weekend, then kinda loses enthusiasm and puts it on the backburner.

At it's heart, the game is fantastic. It has reasonably good graphics, it has TERRAIN DEFORMATION (serious props on that one), and whilst the physics is a bit dodgy, most things seem to be physics objects which is a nice touch.

However, there's really not much of a game. Most of the time you seem to be taking a long time to just do the same things over and over again, very, very slowly. I can see this being fun for anyone REALLY into these things, but for anyone else, it's really just a bit of a bore. KSP is better if this is the sorta thing you're interested in.

Overall, this is the best bad game I've ever played, but I still can't recommend it.

The game is cool for a little bit, but then in the missions they started to move SUPER SLOW, you will be sitting there for 5 minutes holding down W driving.

All i can say is WOW... if only i could stamp out a complete garbage game and have to gaul to waste space on peoples hard drives. O and lets not forget to make em pay for it. Whom ever has taken my money hats off my friend because it is clear to me you have not only never operated any of these machines you didnt even bother to type the name of any of them in to youtube. To call this a sim is beond out landish frankly the work that these devs put out is on the edge of criminal.

I'll keep this short since I agree with a lot of the other reviews here.

This is a tough one because I enjoyed it, but it would sort of be hard to recommend. I think if you watch the trailer or a youtube video and it really grabs you, you'd probably be into it. And at the current sale price of $16, but probably not for $20.

I would've liked to see this come out as an early access title. Some areas are really polished for a budget title, but there are some strange problems elsewhere. And there's not really a lot there. It feels sort of like a mobile game on steroids. Well, it was on steroids, but then it didn't eat right or hit the gym often enough. There isn't enough meat on these bones. There isn't really an overarcing 'game' to what you're doing, you just do a few different things in different areas. But it also doesn't work as a sim because there isn't nearly enough depth to anything you do.

But... I still had fun. And I kept coming back to it, though it was pretty short. I could give it several dozen tiny nitpicks, but I noticed those things becuase I still like it and I want it to be better. It just isn't there yet. Hopefully the developers keep on polishing this one, and they can really blow peoples minds with Giant Machines 2018.
