Newest Patch Released

GENERAL

- Updated court floors for both the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks.

- Uniform improvements including the addition of a number of patches (e.g. Pacers 50th anniversary patch) and changes to more accurately represent uniforms for a number of teams.

- Addressed an issue where some pre-order users were unable to see the ’92 Dream Team on the Play Now team select menu.

GAMEPLAY

- Substitutions made during a timeout will now immediately apply, rather than waiting for the next dead ball.

- Reduced the frequency of lob passes and increased pass speeds across the board.

- Fixed the 5-Second Closely Guarded rule in Euroleague-rules games such that the violation is only called when the ball carrier is holding the ball (as opposed to dribbling the ball).

MyPARK/2K PRO-AM

- Voice chatting has been added to the Pro-Am Team Arena.

- As your Pro-Am Team levels up, you will now begin to see your Sponsors’ logos appearing on your custom arena walls!

- Pro-Am teams of Elite 4 (and higher) will now see big heads in the crowd of their players during games.

- The “On The Rise” and “Get Your Feet Wet” achievements should now unlock when the proper criteria has been met.

- Injuries in MyCAREER will no longer carry over into MyPARK/Pro-Am games. Regardless of your injury status in your career, your player will now always be fully healthy in MyPARK/Pro-Am.

- The Turbo meter will now flash red when depleted in MyPARK/Pro-Am games.

- Travelling as a team to Parks and Pro-Am games should now be a lot smoother and more reliable.

- Once earned, Grand Badges should now properly appear on your player in Pro-Am games.

- A large number of improvements to the camera system used during Pro-Am games. The entire experience should now look and feel much cleaner.

- Custom Wall progress will no longer disappear when changing basket types while editing a Pro-Am Team arena.

- Made a change such that the only whistles you will hear in MyPARK are those from your current game (unless you are walking around).

- Your Gamertag/Online ID will now correctly show on the back of your team’s Pro-Am jersey.

- More reliable search capabilities when searching for players in the Free Agency feature of Pro-Am.

- Corrected a number of animation upgrades for Pro-Am that had incorrect team level requirements.

- Fixed an issue where the overall rating of another player would display as 55 when viewing their player card during a shootaround.

- MyPARK intro animations will now be shown with a greater variety when more than one is equipped.

MyCAREER/MyCOURT

- Corrected a case where users would have an optional practice and a game overlapping on a single day, resulting in the user being forced to simulate to the next game.

- Proper controls for “Orange Juice” are now shown in the Controls menu in the in-game pause menu.

- The Ankle Breaker badge should now properly unlock when the appropriate conditions are met.

- Attributes earned exclusively through off-court events (e.g. free throw shooting, stamina, etc.) should now properly be saved to your MyPLAYER once earned.

- Coach Brubaker will no longer critique you for missing team practices while you are injured.

- When playing as a Point Guard, the playcalling menu will no longer be brought up on-screen when attempting to use “Orange Juice” controls with the d-pad.

- Fixed an issue where your MyPLAYER would sometimes appear out of focus during a post-game interview with the studio crew.

MyGM/MyLEAGUE

- Removed an errant dialog during MyGM setup that prevented more than one custom-built team from being added to the league at time of league creation.

- Fixed an issue in MyLEAGUE Online where loaded custom draft classes were not being preserved.

- User vetoes are now respected in MyGM when your owner approaches you regarding the proposed rule changes for the upcoming season. If you don’t want a rule enacted, say no. If you are interested in the rule, say yes and it will go up for vote with the league.

- When using a downloaded Team Design, the commentators will no longer refer to the team by an incorrect name.

- Team Cards will now list team stats for the last 24 years, rather than the current and last season it showed previously. The more information, the better!

- Fixed an issue where the Advanced Rotations menu was not properly updating following a trade, which could lead to a hang in some cases.

- Players should now sign for normal contract values when the salary cap rule is turned off.

- Commentary and crowd sounds will now be heard when jumping into a game that was initiated with SimCast.

- Playoff stats will now be used in the Team Comparison and Player Comparison menus during the Playoffs (previously used regular season stats).

Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

When this game came out I was excited to buy it but now here are some crucial bugs and failures that everyone should be aware of before buying it:

CONS:

- it's more like NHL and not NBA; players are sliding around and not actually moving around
- AI can push you back at anytime and you can't do that to it
- you can stuck between two AI's at any time meaning you are out of your position
- AI is just stupid and mindless
- physics are just horrible at this state; you are right next to the ball and you won't pick it sometimes
- AI dribbles you whenever it wants you to; usually it slides around you
- your earning are ridicolous; it's all set up to make you to buy virtual points
- don't be surprised if there will be some AIs without their hand moving artound
- you can't skip scenes
- lots of bugs
- average graphics (compared to NBA 2K16)

PROS:

+ still a solid game which has to be worked on
+ career mode is much better
+ you feel connected with the game
+ it's still a fresh game which hopefully will be worked on

Do I recommend this game? Not at this stage...maybe later when they fix some game breaking bugs and this will work much better. NBA 2k16 is a better choice ATM.

NEW PLAYERS: Overall, one of the best basketball games in the market, but can be hard to pick up. If you do, you're in for a treat. (See below)

FEATURES:
- High quality visuals for a basketball game (or any game, really)
- Very immersive MyCAREER mode
- MyPARK: a game mode where your MyPLAYER can play pick up games with others online
- 2K PRO-AM: create and customize teams and play online
- MyTEAM: the ultimate basketball card game; build your team (of current and former players) and play against others online on the hardwood
- MyLEAGUE / MyGM: if you prefer controlling a team from the top-down (+ new features!)
- CREATE A PLAYER: in-depth player creation with several new categories
- SHOES: give your players some sexy sneaks. Available for MyPLAYER as well

[From here it's more in-depth.]

RETURNING PLAYERS: See below.

MyPROS:
- MyCAREER immersion is the best in NBA 2K history
- Handles feel great
- Face scanning available for PC players now
- Better AI + more control over them
- Kobe and Michael B. Jordan welcome you to MyCAREER, not Spike Lee
- MyNBA2K17 mobile app hooks you up with easy VC
- Much cleaner UI
- Amazing soundtrack (if you're into rap, especially)
- Lot more player customization (animations, attributes)
- No Spike Lee
- Faster MyTEAM unpacking animations
- Dynamic Duo / Orange Juice mechanic is a free stat boost
- Very natural dribbling in between plays
- Arms are actually tangible; you touch the ball, it's out of their / your hands
- Ball isn't on a string; higher mechanics now used for offense
- Harambe logos
- Better, race-neutral MyPLAYER voice compared to the past (never mattered to me though)
- Better player celebrations
- Pres is a decent nickname, but what isn't compared to Frequency Vibrations
- No freqin' and vibin'

MyTRIGGERS:
- Questionable player ratings (as of 9/20/16)
- Occasional FPS drops
- You start MyCAREER with a really low rating (as usual)
- Justice Young has better ratings than you
- MyPARK is just 3 ghost towns
- Sound is glitchy (e.g. player interview with PA going off)
- You can't make the player you want with the categorization of playstyles
- If you're a lower draft pick, you can't skip to yours in MyCAREER
- Your MyPLAYER has unforgiving attribute caps (e.g. low free throw and stamina ratings)
- The '+1 stat' you SHOULD be rewarded disappears
- No yeezys?
- Unskippable cutscenes
- Many players' faces are completely off
- Not the most hacker-proof game out there (as usual)
- You can still select 'Freq' as a nickname
- Lots of attributes for MyCAREER aren't recorded or saved
- Can be difficult to master the mechanics, especially for newer / returning players
- Spike Lee

MyTIPS:
- For face scanning, use an iPhone front camera while right in front of really bright white light
* Turn slowly, and per angle.
- Lower the difficulty to:
* Rookie if you're getting crushed or are fairly new
* Pro if you're fine at the level the game puts you at initially
* All-Star if you're ready to play at a respectable level
* Superstar if you need a challenge
* Hall of Fame if you want to find out how hard of a punch your monitor can handle

MyREVIEW:
- The latest installment to the NBA 2K series, NBA 2K17, is one of the better basketball games on the market ever--by default. It has a deep career mode, unlike any other game in its genre, but has once again failed to make it the best through acclaim. Its career mode--arguably the most anticipated part of the series now--tends to make critical errors annually. If you want to have the best career, then go buy 2K11. If you want to have the most IMMERSIVE career, then take this game.

- If you're new though, this game might be a headache. It's not the perfect game, it's just the "best basketball game" created, arguably by default. Lots of fun if you put in the work, but if you're way more casual than a lot of 2K players stick with the games that came out in the past.

- MyTEAM, MyLEAGUE/GM are back again and they've been upgraded. Had no issues with their content before (minus the actual gameplay on the COURT; that's another story), and even made adjustments to make the modes more enjoyable. (See MyPROS.)

- Several new mechanics have been introduced this year, including shot / pass aiming and the dynamic duo system. It certainly increases realism, but the game has too many other holes already for 2K to be working on something like that. (See MyTRIGGERS.) There are many issues that I'm sure you'll read about in the other reviews floating around, but the positives in tandem with them bring me to these opinions:

MyTHOUGHTS:
- FOR HARDCORE 2K FANS: Must buy
- FOR CASUAL 2K FANS: Great game; best 2K since next gen graphics
- FOR NON-2K PLAYERS: Get it on sale
- FOR ALL: No Spike Lee MUST BUY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I'm going to write an honest review for this game since A LOT of people seem to be very biased.

This is not a perfect game. No 2K basketball game will ever be a perfect game. Does that mean this game is bad? No. Should you hold off on the game for now? Probably.

Let's start with the positives:

- A lot of people seem to gloss over the fact that 2K rehauled a lot of mechanics for this game. Shot meters feel more legitimate, this game is MUCH much more realistic (fouls, shot tendencies, etc...) This game is better and more fluid to control, and the gameplay reflects each players' ratings (defense, shots, etc...) much more accurately.

- Online play seems to be better and more fluid. I've yet to encounter any latency issues online with quick play and the such.

- MyCareer is MUCH better than last years. There is no cheesy story and the cutscenes feel much more integrated into the game. Orange Juice and dynamic duos are a great idea in general. The UI for MyCareer (and the game in general) is so much cleaner and more functional.

- The game is visually beautiful, not much else to say on the matter.

Now, the cons:

- Help defense is broken. It's quite ridiculous that 2K hasn't fixes this lingering issue in such a long time but it's still there. This is a BIG issue in MyCareer and not quite as bad in other modes since you can manually control players.

- Stat allocation is broken. This is a huge issue in MyCareer and has deterred me from playing the mode any more until 2K fixes this issue. Introducing the idea of stats that can only be raised in practice is actually quite a neat idea. However, these boosts are not permanent, even though 2K has stated they are. This is detrimental and demoralizing and discourages players from playing the game more. Limit caps are ridiculously strict as well. 2K NEEDS to fix these issues ASAP.

- Numerous glitches.

- 2K introduced broken mechanics along with the good mechanics. Ankle breakers are now pathetically easy to pull off (using Stephen Curry behind the back moves is a surefire way to have your defender fall). Moving screens are now a thing.

I would hold off on buying this game until 2K patches it. There are just too many issues with the game that prevent it from being a playable game. I like this game. I really do. That's why I'm hoping 2K listens to the community and starts working on the issues at hand immediately.

Well, I can't say it's a bad game, because gameplay mechanics are great, probably the best sport game on the market. But my problem is it is getting more and more free-to-playish every year and 2K Sports seems to be doing everything they can to make us pay for VC. Getting it in the game is painfully slow and every upgrade/piece of inventory/animation cost so much. What is ridiculous is that you can pay 100 euro for 250 000 VC and that's still won't be enough to fully upgrade your player! It's 2x cost of the actual game! Also, MyPlayer feels stupid now. I don't understand the point of caps on atributes, if it's my fantasy of playing in the NBA as 2 meters tall NBA player I want him to be the best in everything. I choosed a slasher SF and for only 10 000 VC I can upgrade his 3-point shooting to whooping 59... That's gonna be probably 20% on 3-point shots :) Also 2x multiplier for playing in MyCareer on HoF difficulty doesn't work, so getting VC takes even more time. Another thing that is annoying is that all game modes use same VC, so you have to commit to one of them if you want to be really good at it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, lot's of fun, but 2K Sports gotta stop this VC ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, because everything in this game is made in the way, that makes getting VC slower, even cutscenes in MyCareer are unskippable, so u gotta watch your player talk on the phone with his mom about his dead father and u don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about any of them. I can recommend this game but cannot give it a positive grade because so many things are wrong about it.

So after 240 hours in 2k16 and 20 hours in this, I can really say it improved in almost every point. So I am just going to make a quick pro and con list:
pro:
-new handle system is easy to learn but hard to master (you can really create your own combos and make some nasty ankle breakers)
-graphics and sound improved even more
-AI improved by a big margin
-Blacktop now has people watching you play, cheering etc
-the soundtrack is once again amazing
-playing as a team (for me personally) is way more fun in this part
-the story and the cutscenes are amazing and they seem to never stop
-endorsements are awesome (you can sign with a shoe company and get your own shoe for example)
-the dynamic duo system is fun
-the halftime/pause shows
-you can rewind the whole game in instant replay now
-much more which I fail to remember right now but those are enough

cons:
-somewhat underated player ratings (Isiah Thomas, Dwyane Wade, Damian Lillard..)
-already 90+ ovr players in mypark
-it takes way to long imo to get a new upgrade from working out
-some weird sound and animation bugs but they aren't a big contra

All in all I'd give this game a 9/10, it's so much fun and even more fun with friends. Everything looks and sounds so good that I just don't want to stop playing.

Not sure why it has so many bad reviews. It fixes a lot of the issues that 2K16 had and Spike Lee is gone.

It runs at 75fps for me on a 6700k/1070 on 1440p with everything but AA maxed out.

Soundtrack is alright but gameplay has improved.

Graphics are slightly better than last year and they added more animations.

Buy this game. It is great.

Great performance on my GTX 1070. The gameplay and controls feel much more smoother and life like compared to the previous titles on Steam. And for once, the story is actually pretty good this year compared to 2K15 which was pure vomit. The story features more RPG elements, giving players more of a choice. Haven't experienced any issues so far besides a few very minor glitches that made no major impact on my perspective of the game or the gameplay itself.

The UI is clean and very appealing, blacktop has been improved, playing defense requires more skill, and the game includes a great soundtrack (not that it matters much).

This is the best 2K game out on the market right now in terms of realisim and smooth gameplay.
Overall score on PC: 9/10

My only complaint is not game related. I personally hate the way 2K as a company treats PC gamers compared to console. C'mon cuh... realize that you have dedicated fans on the PC side who don't want to subject to playing on a console. #PCMASTERRACE

Note: Do not let the mixed reviews fool you, a MAJORITY of the negative reviews I've read are a joke. If you want to enjoy a good laugh and witness the cancer that is "steam reviews", check out the negative tab. This game is great, a big step up from the previous titles we have on Steam, if you enjoy basketball this is the most realistic basketball game you'll find out on the market.

(Those of you having performance issues: Update your drivers, look for solutions online, check out the discussions tab as an alternative method for searching for solutions to fix your problem.)

Game is good, the people having problems don't know how to upgrade drivers. You know the types.

I got a gtx 970 and game runs smooth as silk. Story is good, the ball handling is better. It feels like a much better game over 2k16.

In other words, get it and show Obama who the real pres is.

Just a update. The game works fine, no flaws. Had like one bug but it was not that big of a deal.

Many people are playing and enjoying. See the reason people have the problem they do is because 2k17 is next gen port. 2k16 was a ps3 port. Now we got the next gen one. They can't handle this beast.

DO NOT BUY
Game mechanics completely rigged. No matter what you do some games you will not be able to win until playing them 3-4 times. Myteam is a gimmick to get you to spend money otherwise you have to spend hours playing the same team until you beat them with each game being as inconsistent as the last. You can tell the computer changed the game mechanics to either not let you score or to let the other team score. Their players will be able to destroy your defense and then their defense will be inpenetrable. I've even seen the game make me take steps I did not take to keep me in a defensive lock down OR TO EVEN MAKE ME GO OUT OF BOUNDS!!!! If you are buying this game to play with your friends it is a great buy. Anything single player like MyTeam is rigged beyond beleif making you wanna rip your hair out!
TLDR; Solo play is rigged, multiplayer only feasable option.

Waste of money, wouldn't suggest buying it full price unless it's on a sale, for example 60% - 80%, only then it would probably be worth it.
A game developed by such a big company, 2K, yet they still make a piece of s*it game. Don't know about consoles, but it just absolutely sucks on PC.
There is at least 1 second delay when playing with the controller, you simply can't play MyCareer on more than 60hz and with vsync off, otherwise you will miss more than half of the cutscenes as they cut midway if you even get any cutscenes, unlike me, the game is just broken.
The shot meter is absolute garbage, you miss almost every single shot unless you release at the very end so you get a perfect release, how does that make any sense at all?

MyCareer story might be good if you're interested in that, if you're lucky to get any cutscenes of the storymode, unlike me.
Very dissappointed, 2K support is garbage and doesn't help apart from telling you to verify their crap game.
