Perspective

Shanghai to Madison.

The two cities could hardly feel more different, and that contrast has made studying abroad memorable.

Shanghai still feels most like home to me. Madison moves at a different rhythm, but it has a beauty of its own—and it is the first place where I experienced winters with so much snow. Living in both places keeps me attentive to different people, environments, and ways of approaching a problem.

Beyond the keyboard

Contract bridge

I have played contract bridge since I was nine. The game rewards the qualities I value in technical work: careful inference, creative planning, and persistence when the first idea does not succeed. This winter, I plan to attend the 2026 Sam Amer Junior US Bridge Camp & Championships—hoping to compete well, learn, and enjoy the experience.
