I have had this charger since Feb 2013. It worked fine up until my son let the battery die completely. Now it will not charge because my Dell Inspiron 1764 does NOT recognize this charger. So now I have wasted $30 on this charger and I still have to spend $80 to buy a charger from Dell. Also I did try to send an email to the company but I got a message today that my email could not be sent to the company. If they would have helped me with this problem and fixed it I would have gave it a five star. As I said before it worked great till my computer battery died.

When I wrote the above review I had received an email from Amazon stating that Pwr+ could not be reached. Well since then a nice customer sales associate has contacted me named Alex. He was very helpful and I had a new charger within a few days. It was so fast a turn around that I was surprised when I went to the mailbox and found it. I would by from them again!

This adapter works well with my Dell Inspiron 14r. It has 90 watts of output, where the one that came with my laptop is 65 watts, but that isn't a problem. You can use an adapter that's higher output, just not one with too little output.

Good alternative to OEM Dell

Given the number of warnings for power supplies for other Dell Laptops from other sources, I was cautious when ordering this for my Inspiron 1764. When I received this, I was pleasantly surprized to get what appears to be a well made product that had a tight fitting plug and worked perfectly with my Inspiron.
After 2 weeks use as a second supply for my office, it looks like Pwr+ has come up with a strong alternative at 1/3 the cost of the OEM Dell power supply.

Great replacement unit

I was exercising one day on my stationary recumbent bike, and had propped my NEW Dell laptop on the book holder that is built in to my bike. Without noticing, my AC cord got wrapped up in the pedals and before I knew it had snapped off. Yikes!

Does the job

I recently got a Dell 11z from Sprint and am very pleased with it. It is especially fast since I upgraded the memory from 2GB to 8GB for about $100. I got this because my Acer Aspire One 10.1 inch netbook was just too slow and the screen was too small for my half century old eyes. The 11z gives me a lot more speed, a much easier to use screen and built in Sprint 3G/4G connectivity, all in a 3.3 pound package.

The downside is that the power supply weighs almost as much as the notebook, or at least it feels like it.

So rather than lug the power supply back and forth to work, I bought this 3rd party power supply for the office. Several weeks later, it is doing just what a power supply is supposed to do, supply power to my notebook. No overheating, no fuss, it just works.

I purchased this item so I can carry my laptop between upstairs and downstairs without having to unplug the entire power supply and battery charger cord from the wall and lug it around with me. I can still unplug them to conserve energy but it is far easier to just carry the notebook and reconnect it between locations.
This item arrived very rapidly, within a few days. It is identical to the one that came with my Dell laptop. I can't distinguish between the two. It is well worth the price, and now I also have a backup in the unlikely event one fails.

Better than the Dell charger

Dell really sucks when come to their battery charger. I replaced it twice under 1 year warranty. Price of the Dell charger over $75 and not worth it at all knowing it will break down in a year or so. I've heard from other Dell customers about this problem. I got this generic one from Amazon for $25 and so far it is great. If you need to replace your charger, don't ever buy from Dell. You are wasting your money knowing it will not last. This is better.
