Great laptop

Received unit. Some issues existed that seemed to be resolved as time went on. The pc is very fast compared to my desktop. Quiet drive. No constant chattering as with a normal mechanical drive. Boot up in five seconds. USB ports are fast. Programs run fast even the old ones. Removed some installed software that seemed to slow some things down. Nag screens went away. MacAfee trial software was removed- this sped up the computer noticeably.
Overall I am very happy with this machine !

Overall a well built Laptop

I am a moderate level computer user, who does most work (mostly computations with lot of data) and play games once in while. Here are my reviews about the product.
CONS:
Display: The only compromised piece I feel on this laptop is its display. It has warm backlit instead of white. Its kind of bit irritating as my previous laptop has near to white display. Although the color calibration of the monitor can be done easily through Microsoft color calibrator tool which is the part of Windows 10. But it is frustrating to do every time as the settings default on each boot. I googled about it but could not find any concrete solution for this. Maybe ASUS can fix it or tell us how to fix it.

Otherwise, 4K UHD resolution is great in itself. Lot of clarity. No flickers so far as been reported by some other reviewers. Some programs are not designed to scale to 4K so they appear very small. This is has more to do with software manufacturers. But it workable as most of my software were able to scale well.

Glossy/Matte Issues: It is a glossy screen but it is just as much glossy as other glossy screens. Its not like it is way too extra glossy.

ASUS can you help us with warm backlit issues?

PROS:
Speakers: So far are good. I was little concerned about it as other reviewers didn't like it much. But it is able to fill the room pretty well and sound quality is good.

Keyboard & Touch Pad: They are quite good too. No problems so far. Getting use to two finger scrolling. I feel its more like adjusting to the new piece of equipment.

Performance: It is a blazing fast beast in itself. Boots up in less than 3-5 sec. I play CS:GO once in while and I tried to play at UHD resolution it ran perfectly without lags.Read more ›

Great laptop

Beautiful screen, keyboard is pleasant and easy to type on, touchpad works wonderfully (as opposed to my previous HP laptop, whose horrible touchpad forced me to always use a wireless mouse).

That being said, the keyboard keys are a bit squeaky - when typing fast, like in this review, the keys seem to squeak a bit. A little irritating, but this product is so much better than my previous laptop that it deserves every star.

Came nicely packaged as expected for a machine with a price tag of $1500. Booted up and installed all of my important programs and removed most of the few included bloatwares. Threw in some games such as GTA5, Insurgency and Warframes, all was handled very well with high/ very high settings at 1080p. Overall, I am very impressed with this laptop. Boots up very quickly, great for school work, multimedia and some gaming. The downside is the glossy display, but I purchased an anti-reflective screen protector that should help resolve some of the reflections seen with the glossy screen. Also, I personally do not use this laptop out in the sunlight; mainly low-lighted to medium-lighted lecture rooms and have not had much problems with the screen being reflective.

Very happy with this computer

This is a good laptop. Fast, quiet, good battery life, doesn't heat up too much. Have not had any stability issues so far, although I don't do anything too fancy with it. Mostly just internet stuff and MS Office. The screen is beautiful. Well, the pictures on the screen. This is my 2nd Asus laptop in a row. I will again look closely at Asus when the time comes to retire this one.
