Worked for my G71-340US

I've been unfortunate enough to need to purchase aftermarket chargers for laptops in the past. The aftermarkets never seem as good as the original so I price checked the HP adapter when I needed to replace the adapter on my wife's G71-340US. It was nearly $60.00! So I looked to an aftermarket again and bought the least expensive I could find in the hopes it would work as advertised. This one did. The tip was an exact match for the original. It's not loose and charges the laptop the same as the original. It worked so well, in fact, that I bought three more so I would have spares for each G71-340US laptop we have.

Caught fire!!!!!

After 2 days of use, the copper pieces of one end fell out and the whole thing caught on fire!!! Worst thing i have ever bought! Had to replace my computer and have an electrician come in and fix the outlet it was plugged into. Cost me almost $1000! Never been more upset!!!!

I have an HP G71-340US laptop. My power supply plug started having a loose connection, and it was difficult to position it "just right" to power the computer. This plug fit nice and snug. No issues.

My initial thought about this adapter was a one of dread...I needed a charger for my HP G71-350 laptop ASAP and didn't have $100 to go and get a genuine HP adapter. I decided, while cringing, to order this OEM adapter under the intentions that it wouldn't last long... for 8 bucks, I thought, what should I expect? Boy, I was sooooo wrong in my assumptions....

This charger is nothing short but awesome! It charges my laptop flawlessly and does not heat up at all; it stays a constant temperature as with all electronic devices when charging. It is of quality build and I am very impressed with this charger! And for the price no one can beat that! I'm still excited and I've had this charger for about 2 weeks now!

It comes nothing as shown, there is no ground plug terminal as pictured. That means it could build up static very quickly and burn out if not catch fire. It would take probably a dozen of them to weigh what a real HP adapter and power supply cord would weigh. Go to HP and buy one from them. They also didn't send a packing slip or receipt, wonder why?

I do not recommend this product. Most of the time it doesn't charge. It will cost more to return it then the charger cost. The upside: It came within two days, no physical defects.
