Bought one at a different store. Same specs and everything--it's marked e3-111-c0wA. Basically it's a cheap $200 laptop. There's no denying that. It's in the same price bracket as a Chromebook. I cannot honestly say "I like it". But for just two Franklins, I can live it with--as a tertiary computer.

Now, why am I giving it 3 stars?
-1: Mainly because it's really quite slow. Intel tries to pass off these Celeron processors are lower-end versions of their full processor. Hint: They're not! These are based on Silvermont, which is basically 3rd generation Atom. Despite being a 2.41 GHz (max) dual-core, these cannot hold a candle to a 1.4GHz Celeron 2955U. (The 2955U is based on Haswell--which is Intel's current generation processor. It'll do about two to three times as much per clock cycle--so the the 2955U at 1.4Ghz would perform similar to this N2830 at 3.5GHz)
-1: There's definitely not enough RAM, either. 2GB is as pitiful as can be. Moreso with all of Acer's pre-installed applications. If it's preinstalled, you'll probably want to remove it. Aside from the Microsoft programs/updates/plugins, I uninstalled everything--a 2 hour operation (thanks to UAC and the anemic RAM and processor).
-1: The trackpad. They've got rudimentary multi-touch working (so you can swipe two fingers up/down to scroll or pinch in/out to zoom) but it feels like they used Elmer's glue and Scotchtape to attach it. It jiggles around quite a bit and is rather unresponsive.

+1: It runs Windows. I'm no fan of Windows 8.1, but this little laptop does something those Chromebooks simply cannot. It can run your familiar programs (albeit slowly). It can run them natively. It does not require an internet connection to do everything.

At $250-$300, Acer Aspire E3-111-C0WA is a good model to consider if you are looking for a laptop that is small and inexpensive. It’s not a fast machine but it has enough processing power to deliver basic tasks such as Web browsing (few tabs at a time), emailing, typing documents etc. Though it is equipped with Intel Celeron N2830 processor, it is shipped with only 2GB memory. Moreover, it comes with Windows 8.1 64bit operating system and a large amount of memory will be consumed by OS itself. Thus, you can’t expect much multitasking from it. The laptop is installed with 320GB hard drive. However, this 11.6” unit runs cool. Acer Aspire E3-111-C0WA lacks optical drive as well. The advantage of the Aspire E3-111-C0WA is that it comes with all standard ports and connectivity features including USB 3.0 and HDMI ports. It boasts webcam as well. This Acer E3 111 laptop comes with Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth which is hardly to be found in cheap laptops. It offers up to 5 hours of battery life. Alternatively, you can choose Acer Aspire V3-111P-C9Z3 11.6-Inch Touchscreen laptop which comes with Intel core N2930 quad core processor, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive. Acer Aspire E3-111-C0WA is not a touchscreen laptop. Read further to know more about the machine.

Great little laptop by Acer...to change the grade the memory is not that easy. you have to remove the mother board to get to memory. Go on line on google on "My fix it gluide". It will show step by step to install. What I did,I install a 120 GB solid state driver ($70.00) and up grade 4 GB memory ($40.00) Now the little Acer open up little quicker.

I got this computer for school and it's perfect for what I need. The only promblem is I have to push the space bar a few times for it to actually makea space. And I only had this computer about a week, only downloaded office word and a virus protection and sometimes the mouse will freeze and usally have to turn off the computer to get it to start working again.

I really like this computer, with two caveats:

1. The RAM is terrible. It comes with 2gb, but you generally need at least 4 if you want it to not be extremely slow. I ordered an 8gb upgrade from crucial for $83 and installed it myself, so this is not a deal breaker for me. It was still a tiny bit slow with the new chip, but light years ahead of the factory chip.

2. As one other reviewer said, the space bar only worked about half the time, even when I tried to press very hard. I'm exchanging it for a replacement and hoping that that issue is not common.

Bottom line: it's a really nice basic computer, especially for the price, as long as you don't mind fiddling with it a bit. It's the next best thing to a chromebook if you need windows like I do.

For the money this is GREAT! BUT, you kind of have to know what you are doing to keep it running smooth. First of all you need to uninstall all the Acer bloatware (Almost ALL the added software) , including the McAfee anti-virus, they slow it down BIG time... Then, upgrade the memory to at least 4GB if you can, but if you don't want to upgrade the memory, at least get a small size, medium capacity (16GB) USB 3.0 thumb drive, put it in the (blue) USB 3.0 port on the back and set it as a dedicated Ready Boost drive and leave it. I also use Advanced SystemCare, a free tune-up program, and enable it's turbo boost to keep it running good.

Also, any ol' cheap SSD to replace the main hard drive will help too, the hard drive is so slow it helps create "lag"...

As someone who has more computer skills than money, I love it, but definitely avoid it if you don't know how to optimize and "tune-up" computer systems, you'll be frustrated with how slow it is.

This is my 2nd Acer, the first lasted a full 5 years... I work with all major brands of laptops every day in my computer job and Acer is definitely solid quality for the money. You just don't get the the very best of support if you need it... Also, I only dropped 169 on mine, was lucky to get one with a promo code at a major retailer, but easily worth paying up to 229.
