More computer for less cost, in a very stylish package!

This is a very stylish, affordable performance laptop. I'm an Architect and long-time Dell customer, but lately the price of their laptops have greatly out-paced the hardware included. In my profession, we utilize modeling and CAD programs which require hardware on par with high-demand gaming platforms. For a Dell laptop with a greatly inferior processor, graphics card, and no SSD, I was finding myself paying far more (and I wouldn't have gotten it the next day via Amazon Prime). This is the first non-Dell product I've owned and I will never go back! Do yourself a favor, before you purchase any computer, laptop or desktop, compare component benchmarks online to make sure you are getting the biggest performance bang for your buck.

Macbook Pro to this Acer Nitro w/ out skipping a beat.

Absolutely fantastic device.
Most laptops a with dedicated graphics, ssd and hard-drive combo setup, and a 1080p screen have a certain, tacky gamer build.
This laptop does not follow the pattern. All of these laptops more or less perform the same in everyday categories.
For games they will be able to play w/ the graphics setting of ultra, but never extreme.
For battery they will never get more than 4 or 5 hrs.
For movies and tv shows you will rarely watch them in 4k monitor at least for another 2 or 3 years.
What makes this laptop shine and earn an extra star is it's classic and muted chassis.
The matte top is sexy as it is useful for keeping fingerprints off.
If you the color black then this black edition nitro v15 will have you grinning. The build quality is tops.
I have shopped long and hard before deciding on this unit over the much higher priced xps 15.
For about half the price of the xps 15 or a similarly spec'd macbook pro 15,
Acer delivers a serious candidate in the world of the 15' inch laptops.

Looks beautiful, While preforming amazingly

This laptop has to be one of the best I've ever had! Being an avid gamer it runs everything with no problem. The 256G SSD gives this badboy the ability to boot up quickly and efficiently. Like most pc the battery life is roughly 4hrs, but about half when nonstop gaming. Acer, in my book, has out done themselves with the V15. I would most definitely buy this laptop again!

This Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition turned out to be a nicely powerful gaming laptop at a fair price, but feels like some corners were cut to get there once you get hands on, and its worth comparing around to get the most bang for your buck with something like this MSI gaming laptop here: http://amzn.to/1HrCmlm

Solid like the Solid State Drive in the Nitro

The Nitro looks good and feels good. I have had my Nitro for about a month now. It is definitely a great product and performs fantastic. I use it primarily to program and watch videos both of which it has been flawless.

Pros:
Screen is clear and looks fantastic
16GB of RAM is awesome
The machine runs quick so keep your running shoes on
The keyboard has great response and is enjoyable
The back light on the keyboard is cool (its red for the gamer folk)
The hybrid is sweet - only wish the SSD was a bit bigger or only a larger SSD
The actual weight of the laptop isn't too bad considering what's packed in it

Cons:
The trackpad isn't the most smooth thing the world, but if you have a mouse it's not a problem
All the ports are on the same side which is a little weird and not super fun sometimes
Its loaded with lots of bloatware (just annoying to get rid of it)
The cord adds some weight to your bag as you can't leave without it
The battery life isn't the best by no means, however, I am usually near a plug and I can usually get 4 hours pretty consistently
It's made of plastic so its a bit easier to do damage on the bad boy
I am not sure if its a user error, something with my network, this laptop or a combo of it, but with some sites it has some uploading/logging in issues and when I use my old Asus for the same task it doesn't have an issue so not sure what it is.

Overall, I would recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking for something fast to work on and is ok staying near a wall socket. It has treated me well and I am sure it will treat whoever else decides to purchase it.

256GB SSD plus a 1TB HDD

This laptop comes with a 256GB SSD plus a 1TB HDD, and that is a big advantage. Others in this class come with SSD only and run out of storage if you like games or work with video. This runs games and Adobe CS easily with powerful graphics. My only little gripe is that all ports are on the right side - and that is the mouse side for me. That is a small price to pay for this which is easily the best of many laptops I have owned.

Also, recently upgraded to Windows 10 flawlessly.
