With the numerical keypad added, the alphabetical keyboard is shifted a bit to the left. That, and the individual keys seem a little larger than I'm used to, so you find yourself having to stretch your fingers more than usual when typing. For someone with smaller hands (like my mom, who had a little bit of a hard time with it) or someone with carpal tunnel, this might not be the best choice. Otherwise, it just takes some getting used to. That being said, I was very happy to find an affordable Windows 7 laptop. It was fast, easy to set up, not overloaded with annoying software, and I haven't had a single problem with it.

Nice laptop but ditch McAfee AV and IE!

Received Aspire today. Very fast delivery. The laptop itself is fine. Seems to have plenty of speed. The only mistake I made is clicking on the activation for the McAfee AV preloaded on the system. All sorts of popups occured unleashing viruses. Took all after on getting rid of those. My advice, immediately uninstall McAfee before doing anything else. Then download Avast or Avg for free. Also download Malwarebytes. One other suggestion, download Google Chrome or Fire Fox to use in lieu of IE for your browser. Either one is much safer than IE. After doing all this and running scans, the computer seems to be running fine. I've never had to remove so many viruses right out of the gate.

Update 3/24/15- in the shop. Completely failed.Won't boot. 2nd Acer that has totally died. At least it's still in warranty.

It has never caused me any problems other than a couple of sticky keys due to my spilling coffee on the keyboard. It does not come with lots of adware as on other brands of computers. so cleaning it up was much easier. I highly recommend this computer for entry level applications.

Excellent replacement for a 8 year old laptop that finally had it's hard drive crash. I bought one that was a refurbish unit and saved a bunch of money. It was brand new as near as I could tell. Works great. Fast enough to run Quicken and any internet as well as Skype and youtube videos. I do not play on-line games, so no need for a 'fast' machine I suppose. It's pretty lightweight, but I only use it at home or very occasionally when I go on a trip. I love that it's Windows 7 instead of 8 or 8.1. I'm old school and not interested in 'learning' something new at this stage of my life. Great for folks who are just not interested in learning new technology.

DOES NOT COME WITH WINDOWS 7 OPERATING SYSTEM

FANTASTIC laptop. However, it does not come with the windows 7 64 bit operating system as advertised. A windows 7 image is loaded onto the entire drive on a fat32 partition. No windows 7 operating system media comes with the laptop. The Acer recovery media (which you have to create) only copies a windows 7 image onto a fat32 partition taking up the entire hard drive. All circuit city would do is offer a refund. Acer refused to do anything. Acer tried to say that the image was an OEM windows 7 operating system. OEM operating system means that you can custom install windows 7 by changing the size and type of partition. The claim that the laptop comes with a windows OEM operating system is a LIE. I would recommend this laptop highly - but, you better already own windows 7 64 bit operating system or you will have to purchase it.
