A very nice windows 7 laptop.

It worked right out of the box, found the router, connected to the internet and ran updates. One of the things I like best is that it was not cluttered up with a bunch of "trial" software that had to be deleted. It has a 4.7 windows experience rating, which is pretty good for a Celeron system. The display is clear and bright, the keyboard has a nice touch to it, and it has a long battery life. My wireless mouse installed and ran first try. It connected to the network and the two wireless printers without problems. It has a sd card slot and two usb 2.0 ports and one usb 3.0 port.

I have had Acer computers for years and have been very happy with them. It is replacing a six year old Acer laptop. On top of that, it is a really pretty blue color!

Worth the cost.

This is a $398 laptop. It does everything a $398 laptop should do and does it just as fast as one would expect from a $398 laptop.

It has 1.7ghz intel processor, on board intel HD graphics, 4gb ddr3 ram, 500gb hd, HDMI & VGA outputs for video, an optical drive, 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and SD card reader, HD webcam, 15 inch glossy screen, silent fan, long battery life.. Basically everything the more expensive laptops have minus the higher end hardware.

Don't buy this and expect to edit or render video, play video games on high settings, or run multiple system resource heavy applications at the same time. We're looking at a $398 laptop, not a $898 laptop.

A great buy!

I read reviews before making any big purchase. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out which laptop to buy. Knowing that I wanted to keep it under $400, that I wanted Windows 7 instead of 8, 4GB and 500GB and a screen of at least 15.6 inches, there were just so many to chose from and a lot of negative reviews. Except this laptop had all good reviews so I took a chance. I'm so glad I did! The laptop was delivered about 4 hours ago and I love it! There's going to be a learning curve coming from Windows XP (which I would have kept until the end of time if given a choice) but it's not so much that it's going to be too difficult. It has a webcam which I didn't want and probably won't use, but who knows. My new laptop is blue, which is my least favorite color, but this is a pretty blue so I don't really mind it. I'll try to update this review if anything changes, but so far, so good!

August 20, 2015 - I've had this laptop for over 6 months now and I still love it. However, there are a couple of issues that I do have with it. Every so often I have trouble typing. It's almost like the laptop has to pause before allowing me to type what I need to. Thankfully I don't type too often so it's mostly been annoying. If I was still in school and had papers that needed to be done it would be a true pain in the butt.

My biggest complaint is the lack of audio. Even with the audio turned all the way up I can barely hear some videos or music. Incredibly annoying! Awful! Wonder if it's just my machine or others have the same issue.

I gave this to my husband as a birthday gift. He had an Acer netbook. It was 8 yrs. old ,so it was time for a new one. I always liked the Acer brand. The set up was super easy. No problem connecting to Wi-Fi. He is not computer savvy, so this was a good basic choice laptop. I wanted to keep Windows 7. As he is used to that. I'm not familiar with Windows 8, but heard a lot of negative feedback. I love the blue color. It looks just as pictured. The shipping was fast. Customer service was very good as well. I love amazon and do most of my online shopping here.

This has to be the best laptop I've ever had, and I've purchased 5 Acers so far. All of them have exceeded my expectations in doing what I needed them to do, and my kids have gotten many years of service out of each one before upgrading to the new versions. I will never buy any other brand of laptop other than Acer.

Great laptop

I love my ACER computers and laptops. I ordered this as a replacement for an older Acer laptop. I really like the upgrades Acer did for the laptops. This one is thinner, lighter, softer keys and just an all around nice laptop. Since I`m not a gamer this does everything I need it to do and more. Very pleased.

Window's 7 is my favorite operating system, and this computer runs it. It didn't come with office, but I am a student and got it through my school for around 79$. This is a lightweight computer that runs everything I need too. I would buy it again.

Best laptop I've ever had! So easy to use. I ordered it from Amazon, and had it in 2 days. Went through the Acer online steps to set it up, added Microsoft's Free Security Essentials software, then did the Microsft Windows Update to make sure it was up to date, and BOOM! I'm online. The battery lasts for hours, or days, depending on how much I use it. I've told several people about it, so better get one while you can before they're all gone :)
