I was able to get one refurbished from ACER and this is my first Chromebook. And I love it. It is soooo light, easy to have on one's lap or in the bathroom or to carry about. I basically got this to do my online stuff and spare my larger laptop from wear and tear. It's a delight. It's not as fast as, say, a MAC or a more powerful computer, but this little baby is handy, easy peasy to set up and use. I do find that if may not be very smooth if I have a lot of windows or tabs open, so I gotta remember to close down some tabs. If you like reading on a larger screen in the bathroom (yeah, yeah, lighting is nice in there), this and my Kindles both are great.

The keys are a little close together cuz it's a smaller size, but the keys feel good to type on.

I liked it enough that I got hubby one, too. :) This way, he if he doesn't need the weight or power of his MacBook, he can just use this out and about or for social media stuff while we're watching TV.

Fun little machine. Not perfect, but I love it all the same.

Update: I've had this baby for 10 days and use it ALOT. It's so handy. However, I will point out that your sound might go off on occasion. Only happened to me once, but when I googled it, it seems to happen with this chromebook now and then. Just turn it off and turn it back on. Sound returns. :D

I got it at the super low price of about $110 so you won't hear much complaining out of me.

Contrary to a few other reviewers I really like the placement of the charging cable port in back as the input is angled you can rotate it to stick out to the left or right side of the computer which is very handy. Having the HDMI cable in the back could be hit or miss but I give them credit because it helps slim down the form along the sides and one thing I really like about the laptop is how slim and portable is (11.5x7.5in).

It's sturdily built and looks very in white. No complaints about the form.

The battery life is superb. Typing this now I have only just plugged it in to charge for the first time in three days with light use. I think the battery all but freezes after its closed or goes into power saving mode.

The keyboard is slighty (very slightly) louder and less gummy then other chiclet style keyboards I've used and certainly more so than the Dell model I've tried. The only con in terms of the keyboard is it is not backlit but for the most part the light from the screen is adequate for typing in the dark.

The Chrome OS is different and clearly holds the potential to be wonderful. It only runs slowly after around ten tabs are open and on the one occasion the whole computer felt bogged down I "power washed" it (which is a option in the settings menu) and it was back to normal speed after. I would be reluctant to recommend the Chrome OS to anyone who doesn't use Google applications regularly because third party options are sparse and hit-or-miss. If you are a big time Google-user and don't intend to do much else besides surf the web, email, make Google docs, Gchat, and watch Youtube, Chrome OS is just peachy.

I purchased this refurbished from Acer and I have to say I'm impressed. The body of the laptop, although not metallic is a smooth matte white and does not seem cheaply built at all. I especially like the matte screen since it does not reflect light. I normally use a full sized keyboard but ill get used to the smaller one I guess. There's no touchscreen but I'm kind of glad because my touchscreen laptop screen is usually a mess. It is also resonably thin and light weight. The battery life is great though. I haven't charged it since I got it. Now, regarding the thing that actually makes it a Chromebook, the chrome os. Upon purchasing you should know it is very limited. Even though there are ways to get android apps or convert to Ubuntu, the stock os is practically useless if you don't have WiFi. Again, this should have been made clear before purchasing. If you want a metal body go for an ASUS but this suits most of my needs and my wallet. I actually wanted to lesrn how to code but it seems this laptop is better for my school work. If you have any suggestions of beginners coding software hmu.

Pros:
Portable
Cost
Build quality
Battery life
Fast chrome os

Cons:
Hardware (but if running chrome os it wouldn't matter)
Clicky touchpad
Left and right click is compicated
Os is too simple and limited (you know what you're getting)

just got in mail, works great, alittle bit of a learning curve... but so far so good. The Only gripe is that without being connected to the internet, simple things such as saving data become more of a burden

Picked this up on sale on Amazon for $110 for my daughter. She loves it, and it's been perfect so far. Feels incredibly well made considering the cost, and comes with a ton of features we haven't even utilized yet. I wouldn't trade my macbook for it, but for a young student or someone who just wants to check things out on the web, this is a KILLER deal.

I got the refurbished one and couldn't be any happier for a back up laptop in case main pc goes haywire! Has an SD memory card slot for extra storage lite on resources and just a solid product for emails surfing and note taking.
