Had it over 2 wks now, works great! Big 17" screen is so bright and sharp. Windows 7 is fast & easy to use. Acer set up the function keys so many things can be done quickly; turn wireless on/off, put to Sleep, monitor on/off, mute sound, adjust volume and brightness. Battery lasts many hours even with Power settings set for max performance. The power adapter is suprisingly compact. All keys working great including spacebar. Made the Restore disks as recommended, optical drive worked fine. Thought I might add to the supplied 4G of memory, but speed is so fast it wouldn't be worthwhile.

Too bad it didn't come with a Starter version of Microsoft Office like on desktops a few years ago. Oh well, might download Open Office 4.0.1 and avoid flakeyness I've read about the new MS Office. Like having a full keyboard with keys spread apart like a desktop. Mouse pad works well and is sensitive to touch. Control Panel offers lots of mouse and pointer adjustability. No seams around mousepad is nice looking and keeps down the buildup of 'gunk' around it. This machine is just so user friendly, and Windows 7 is easy to personalize. Plenty of Help topics are included by both Window 7 and Acer, and of course info available on internet is almost infinite.

If hardware stays healthy, this will be one of best buys I ever made! The price was significant lower than most other 17" laptops outside of the bargain-basement units. Shipping was a quick 2 days, and it arrived double boxed and well protected. If there were problems it could be returned, but so far this Acer 17" Aspire E1-731 is a perfect tool at a bargain price.

Good MOBA Game Laptop, Fast, HD, Big

Arrived a day earlier than estimated shipping :)
My sister and I had a good laugh at the packaging though from antonline! Instead of bubble wrap or some sort, they wrapped the entire laptop box with what seemed like a 20 foot long brown paper.

Took the laptop out, turned on fast, process was easy to set up and I immediately transferred everything from old to new laptop smoothly. The laptop has big built-in speakers in the front so the sound is nice.
I play MOBA games and download extensive software on here no lag or anything (LoL or OSU etc.).

My purchased was for my husband. This is our 4th Acer. He is not a techie so he loves that all the processes are comfortable to operate and easy to learn new. We both love Windows 7 and it is hard to find. Not interested in Windows 8. As we all know how much of an improvement Window 7 is from Vista you can't even compare the two. The 17.3 screen is larger than his last. The clarity of the screen is awesome on Acer for the price

It works fine. I have used it for 6 weeks now. It is Windows 7, I tried a computer with Windows 8 which to me was the worst operating system ever. Since I have to pay for my internet service by how much I use I couldn't afford Windows 8. Windows 8 was taking close to a gigabyte a day just to update the operating system. This computer works like the one it replaced.

I had an Acer laptop in the past and "upgraded" to another more respected brand. The hard drive in the new one had to be replaced three times before the warranty ran out and it always runs hot. So, I bought another brand with Windows 8 because that is all you can find in stores anymore in my area. Windows 8 and I are not now and will never be friends. Now, I've gone back to the Acer with Windows 7. So happy to find this and love the full size keyboard with the 10 key on the side. I will never again buy a computer because the company has a reputation for producing good products. From now on it tried and true for me and I highly recommend Acer.
