efficient laptop

excellent value on this small light weight laptop. it fits into my soft brief case easily. It is perfect as a travelling laptop. screen is vivid, keyboard fits and feels good to the touch. speed is adequate but ok for my use. i purchased a clear plastic cover that fits snugly and protects the surface from scratches. I would recommend as a decent quality laptop in the lower price range.

Great and Affordable Ultrabook

I bought this to replace my bulky and heavy Dell (older) laptop that I take to work. That laptop used to be the the top of the line ($1800) laptop and was constantly concerned that it would be taken or broken so I bought this one since it was fairly cheap (<$400) and it would take up less space. I am just a casual computer user so the specs don't really concern me but I can say it is a fast and lightweight ultrabook. I use it mainly for web surfing and school work. This model doesn't have a media drive which doesn't bother me because now most music or media is in cloud or streamed. The keyboard is comfortable for my large hands. The speakers are decent for listening to music while you work or play which is exactly what I am doing now while typing this review. I read some of the online reviews and they mentioned how the case seems cheap but for my first non metal case laptop I am impressed. It is light, it seems sturdy, quiet (no rattles or groaning), and nice matte finish cover. All in all a really nice ultra book for those who are on a budget who want something that is speedy and looks nice.

The only con is that the battery doesn't last as long as I am accustomed but I can tweak the settings and should be able to extend that.

I bought this product to replace a Dell laptop for my wife. So far so good! She is happy with it. It's very lightweight, and has a full size keyboard however it does not have a disk drive, so you may need to get an attachment.

This should be a back up computer for your desktop or more powerful laptop. It's lightweight and you can tell where costs have been cut like the keyboard but all if you need more than a tablet, this laptop is a good choice.

I bought this laptop (Acer Champagne 13.3" Aspire Ultrabook S3-391-6616 Laptop PC with Intel Core i3-2377M Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium) for $120 plus tax in September 2013 (almost exactly two years ago) from Walmart online. It's been a really mediocre machine. The CPU leaves a lot to be desired. I often find myself sitting here waiting for it to process/think/load things. Usually a restart will temporarily make things better. The two things I like about it are: (1) It's lightweight and portable, and (2) "Is that a Mac?" Bottom line--I'm glad I only had to pay $120 for this machine. It's really kind of crappy.

TERRIBLE DESIGN

Unfortunately I have owned this laptop for 2 years. It has a unfixable design flaw. The ribbon connecting the monitor to the motherboard is pinched and damaged upon opening and closing the laptop. Mine stopped working 10 day out of warranty. Acer has charged me $100 and then $300 to fix this. I had requested for them to fix it again and they have refused saying the product is 11 days out of repair warranty. My local computer shop opened my laptop up to reveal the innate problem with the design. I am never buying acer again.
