Charger for Laptop

My grandson goes through charges at least once every 5 months. I got tired of paying. $39.99 for a charger. Everyone told me this charger wouldn't do the job I was wasting my money. Of course I didn't listen and order it. It came to us in a very timely manner and works wonderful. I have this page in my favorites because I know I will be ordering another one in afew months. You Get What You Pay For

This overall does work and serves its purpose, however the connection from the AC adapter to the cord that plugs into the wall is very loose and easily comes apart. The cord from my original charger wasn't damaged so I used that instead to plug it into the new AC and that works fine.

Only works if you plan on using it at a desk

The item came pretty quick which I was excited about and that's where the excitement ended. The first thing I saw once opening the package was bare wires. They were split and bare right at the base of the connector which was bad enough at first but then I was really let down when I found out it doesn't even fit my laptop. I have a satellite a665 which is one of the listed devices for this and as you can see from my video above there's a thick plastic cuff on the plug that wont even let it insert all the way. Like it does enough to charge it but it will just end up falling out if I move around. So I sent an email to us.electricking who made me jump threw a few hoops of back and fourth emails and submit pictures of the split and they immediately responded and said they'd send me another one. Which they did and it came fairly quickly but this still didn't handle the issue with it not fitting. So I e-mailed them again and after some more back and fourth I attached this video to show them and they responded by refunding my money. Which is fine I guess but still think its shit that they didn't mention this in the description.

So long story short I recieved it with bare wires and the plug doesn't even fit the Toshiba satellite.

UPDATE: As I was writing this review I received and E-mail from us electricking (clearly not in the U.S.) offering to pay me $2 in the hopes that I won't leave a bad review. Idk if I should be insulted or not. lol

Nice a cheap replacement, but not good long-term

Got this a few months ago, and it worked great up until recently. Yesterday (May 24th, 2013, for future internet archaeologists), it randomly stopped working. I checked my laptop, and the adapter hole thing worked fine (my sister also has a Toshiba Satellite, so i borrowed her charger), and this charger didn't work with her laptop. No idea why it stopped working, other than it just did.

Other than that, it was fine. The transformer (the box in the middle of the cable) got really hot; hot enough to cause the sticker on it to begin to bubble, but I never thought it was going to melt or catch fire. It was just really hot to the touch. Also, the wall-to-transformer cable is kind of short compared to the one that came with the laptop, as is the other cable that hooks up to the laptop. But other than that, it charged everything quickly and fully for like 3 or 4 months, so it's hard to complain about spending $2 a month on it.

So, in all, if you're broke or are going to upgrade your laptop within 9-12 months, this is a great investment. If you need one for anything longer than what I just mentioned, either stock up, or go buy the official one from Toshiba - you'll save time, money, and frustration.
