Love the Price!

Since I only paid $300 for my laptop, I was not thrilled with the prices I was finding for a replacement charger. I was very excited to find one for such a low price at Amazon. This charger works perfect and I am not out almost a third of what I originally paid for my laptop!! The part that went bad on mine was the end that plugs into the laptop, so I was able to keep the original power cord since the one that does come with it is short.

OK charger

This replacement is NOT an official HP replacement, so ignore the deceptive photo shown (it looks like an official HP adapter, and the one I got looks nothing like this). It's a knock-off brand, but it works just fine and does its job. My biggest problem is that the AC adapter box feels cheap, and has a short cord: the whole thing's a bit longer than 6 feet long in total. Of course, these two problems make little difference if you're wanting to save at least $50 instead of buying an official HP adapter at a department or computer store (I saw the official HP adapter selling for $69.99 plus tax at a Wal-Mart).

Totally worth it if you want a spare adapter and don't mind the short length.

This adapter started smoking and shorted out less than 1 hr after my daughter began to use it. Don't waste you time and money with this one. The cheap price was deceiving and it's true- you do get what you pay for.

Cheap product, don't waste your money.

Bought this on August 29th, and it worked for barely a week before it started overheating and finally it stopped working at all. Had the same experience with a similar product bought from Amazon on April 18, 2011 - which worked for 4 months. Going to buy an original adapter direct from HP now.
