For those of you that have been trying to find a laptop stand for MacBook Pros, you'll know the problem: the MBP has a limited opening angle for the screen. This makes those laptop stands that have a very steep incline angle for the base totally unusable.

I bought a laptop stand from Rain Design, and it is very very nice - but it cost much more than this. One of my colleagues has the Aidata stand, and it caught my attention - when folded up, it is very slim and easy to carry around. And the clever design offers a lot of angles to position the laptop. At the lowest setting, it works great for the MacBook Pros! Opening it all the way up and it'll work for my Dell laptops as well!

If I were to buy a laptop stand again, I would have just gone for this instead - it's cheaper, it's more flexible, and it's more portable!

For those who have read some of my other reviews, you may have seen a trend in trying to get rid of neck pain. This purchase was done as part of this, I wanted something portable that I could travel with.

I absolutely love this! It swivels, it has several levels of adjustment, from low (makes it easier to type on the keyboard) to high (to be used with external keyboards). This has revolutionised how I work on a laptop, and it is really great. It weigh next to nothing, comes in a cover which can be used as a mousepad, and it lifts the laptop monitor as high as you like it.

If you need something to lift your laptop with, and you want something to travel with, this is definitely the purchase!

its perfect

- weight:
super light wesight. Folds completely flat that makes it very easy for transporting.

- build:
made of aluminium. looks flimsy, but is really sturdy. I have a w520 that is pretty heavy. It supports that laptop without any problem. Its a 15.6 inch laptop. I am sure it can support laptop of bigger sizes too.

- adjustments:
its many height adjustment setups are very convenient.

- easy of assembly:
cant get easier than this. Just take it out of the box and put it on a table and start using it.

- features:
a) the laptop stand can swivel around on its base. That is a pretty neat feature although I don't use it.
b) the sleeve that this stand goes into can be used as a mousepad. A simple, yet useful feature.

- cons:
A little expensive maybe. But a great product.

- should I buy it?
if
a) you use a laptop
b) primarily on a computer desk, but occasionally also want to just lie down on the floor/carpet/bed and still be able to use the stand
c) want a lightweight portable stand

then don't look further. this is it.

I am very pleased with this laptop stand. It is simple and ergonomic, easy to transport, light and yet sufficiently supportive.
I have a 17 inch Dell and is held securely in place. It is also great as a mouse pad when needed and I tuck my jump drives, etc
under the stand to keep them out of the way. I only wish that it went down one level lower for some of my work stations, it would
be easier to set a good level with my chair positioning. But overall it is a great laptop stand, versatile, compact, well thought out,
well made, and I feel I made a teriffic choice. Nothing bulky here, just what you need, you can take it anywhere![...]

I really appreciate this purchase. This stand does everything I need it to do.
It's very adjustable and folds down into a small pouch/case that comes with it.
This stand makes it easier on my neck since I am able to raise my Mac to the proper
height, and given that I spend many hours in the library, this is truly a blessing.

The only thing to warn others about is that if you buy this stand you should use the
case while you are transporting it with your laptop. Once I did not and the stand
got a bit scratched up rubbing against my Mac while in my bag.

In the end I highly, highly recommend this stand.

This stand doesn't actually hold my laptop up on the three low settings with the screen raised to a comfortable angle: the center of gravity of the laptop shifts far enough from where it was in closed position that it slides off beyond the clips. I have a 7-pound, 17-inch laptop, though; it might work fine for smaller computers. Fortunately, I don't really have any reason to use the lower settings (according to the directions, intended for use when you need to type on the built-in keyboard), as I always use an external keyboard when I'm using the stand.

The instructions provided are terrible, consisting entirely of pictures and broken English. I was just being stupid, but it took me at least five minutes to figure out that the little clips at the bottom fold out from the main body of the stand. Until I figured out that the clips existed, I was sheepishly moving my laptop around on the stand trying to figure out if it was supposed to sit there by friction or if some piece on the bottom of my laptop was supposed to hold it up or what.

It also seems rather expensive for a simple metal stand. However, I would probably buy it again unless I found a clearly better deal; for the most part, it does what I wanted.
