Great Value for a Great Product

This stand, just like its inspiration the mStand Laptop Stand by Rain Design (http://www.amazon.com/Rain-Design-10032-mStand-Laptop/dp/B000OOYECC) is a fantastic little accessory. A quick comparison of the two:

Build Quality (5/5): Solid and sturdy. Slightly heavier than the mStand, in a good way. All-in-all about the same though. [Push]

Form (5/5): The laptop stand is similarly shaped and does an equally fine job with positioning and support. [Push]

Ascetic (3/5): The appearance, while not obtrusive in any way, lacks the pleasing facade created by the sharp lines of the mStand. Considering the fact that you almost never see either during regular use, this was not a large issue for me. [mStand]

Price (5/5): At the time of writing this review, the stand is less than half of the price of the mStand. [AmazonBasics]

Great stand, matches my black and red set up perfectly, and the space underneath is perfect for my USB hub. The height is a bit higher than anticipated, but works perfectly in the middle of my two monitors. Only complaint is that my computer isn't cooling as well as my old stand (though that was to be expected without a built in fan).

So far so good

I work from home, so a laptop stand is essential. When I just work with my laptop flat on the desk, my neck and back would ache in no time. With the laptop stand, I can sit and work 8-12 hours per day, everyday.

The two cushy stoppers work best with laptops that have flat front edges. Mine has a slanted front edge and just barely makes use of the cushioning. So it's not a product flaw, it's just my laptop design. This is a heads up for anyone with a similar style of laptop.

Regarding the book in my picture:

As seen in my picture, I added a thick book on the bottom, mostly because my desk has very little depth/width. I needed the stand to hang off the back edge a little to fit my keyboard in there with enough space for my wrists. Again, this is not a stand flaw, it's my desk flaw. And anyway, I'm tall, so a little extra stand height actually makes it better.

And yes, like everyone says, it's surprisingly more heavy than you'd expect. But that's fine too. A laptop stand will just sit on a desk all day anyway.

Heavy and the rubber parts aren't secure

This thing gets the job done, but it seems poorly made. The 4 little rubber bits on the top aren't glued very well. Two of them fell right off after using this thing once. The two front pads also seem a bit loose. I will eventually remove them all and glue them I guess. While sturdy, this stand seems much heavier than it needs to be. I would return it if it wasn't too late.

Solid Laptop Stand

Not a bad stand for the price, sure it's heavy but it ensures that it will stay in place. High quality metal is very indestructible and it managed to make my laptop not overheat from better circulation. I love the how it sits on a flat desk surface.

What I've been looking for!

Using this helps to clear up my desk top, and it's much easier for me to look at the screen. I recommend getting an external mouse and keyboard for the easiest usage, as typing can be a little awkward at the angle.

Great for the price

It's pretty good. It only loses points because it's not the exact same color as the macbook pro and isn't as refined as the mStand, but it still feels sturdy and works well as a laptop stand.
