Great college backpack

It's definitely not the best looking backpack but it gets the job done which makes it worth five stars. Great for school!

Pros

-Cheap but very well made
-Fits a 15' laptop, laptop charger, a books or two, several notebooks and binders
-Has a small pocket in the front for your phone, headphones, and/or sunglasses
-Has an organizer pocket that goes from top to bottom of the bag.
-Doesn't puff out when full
-It isn't heavy or uncomfortable when loaded with tons of stuff.
-The laptop pocket is really nice. It puts the laptop right up against your back which helps with the weight,

Cons

-The straps were a little uncomfortable the first week because they were rough
-It's tall and has a very boxy shape
-There is only one "big" pocket. The laptop pocket and the pocket with the organizer are not very wide, so only the middle pocket expands.It still has a lot of room. This is a con for me because I have to put my lunch with my books which is a little inconvenient.
-The design and color of the bag is very drab.

The pros outweigh the cons here for me. This backpack is great for college! So far I feel like it will last me a long time even though I carry a lot of heavy stuff on a daily basis in it.

I love, love, love this backpack! There is plenty of padding to protect my laptop and lots of room for the cord. Most laptop bags are very thin and only have room for the computer. This backpack leaves plenty of rooms for books, folders, and pens and pencils. I enjoy the fact that it's very "gender neutral" in color as well. The price is very reasonable for such a quality backpack.

Lives up to expectations!

Like all of the Amazon Basics gear bags, this laptop bag is simple and very well made. In basic black with a bit of gray accents, this may be to bland for some people, but I love it. The lack of flash means it will not draw attention when I'm out and about.

The main compartment of the bag has a padded pouch that will easily fit a 15-inch laptop, which makes it perfect for my backup computer. My 17-inch main machine will not fit. Also in that compartment is room for the power brick and a wireless mouse along with several other smaller accessories.

The middle compartment has more than enough room for a large book or two, several notebooks or a weekends worth of clothes (if you pack lightly).

The front compartment is segmented off with what appears to be nylon fabric, but this is where you would keep pens, pencils, possibly your phone or other mobile device.

There is a front zippered area, that is small compared to the rest of the compartments, but would easily hold a cell phone or wallet with no problem.

All in all, I can't find anything bad to say about this bag and like other Basics gear bags I've received, I expect it to last me for quite a long time.

Basic average laptop backpack

This laptop backpack is a no-frills no-nonsense bag that will carry your laptop (plus peripherals), books and papers, and a few other things. It has a separate zipped compartment for the laptop with minimal padding and a velcro strap to keep your laptop in the padded pocket, and a separate zipped compartment for books, files, tablet, etc. Mesh pockets on the sides can carry slimmer water bottles like a Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Bottle, but not the bigger Camelbak glass bottle.

This bag works best to carry your laptop plus a few other things. This bag will accomodate books, portable drives, a water bottle, and whatever else you can fit in the other compartment, but the bag becomes awkward to carry (and also looks awkward from a third-person perspective). The straps are good enough for a light load, but feels like they will break when loaded with heavy things.

In lieu of these limitations, I give this a solid 3-stars based on my needs (I need to carry a about 70-100 pages worth of files), but a barely-there 4-star rating for light use.

This backpack is a great value. Let's face it, there are a million backpacks on the market, most of which function the same. The best features of this one is the special padded compartment for a laptop. Very easy to get in and out. There are also a couple of other roomy compartments as well as some pockets with specialized holders for pens, phone, water bottle, hat, etc. However, my favorite feature is how comfortable the backpack is to wear. The straps are padded and don't pull or dig into the shoulders.

I plan on using this pack for hauling my painting gear. The computer compartment is just right for my portable (lidded) palette and the other compartments will hold paints, small canvases, drawing tablets, etc. Because I don't have a great deal invested in this item, I don't mind actually USING it. I expect it will last for years.

Very well made, roomy, and comfortable

This bag holds up extremely well. My daughter has used it for almost 2 years and it fits her 13" Mac Pro, an iPad, wallet, iPhone, all of the cables and chargers, bluetooth speaker, a couple of books, stuffed animal, and room for more. Super Comfortable straps and padding on the bottom for the people that like to drop their bag (and their electronics from the waist - so dumb). And it still looks like the day we got it.
