I inserted the battery in my laptop and that is where the issue lies. This battery is not an exact fit as described. It doesn't fit flush in the battery compartment and fell out on more than one occasion.

The support department responded to the issue quickly and recommended to return the item for a full refund. That is a good response, however, the battery should fit as advertised. 4-star for support, but being within the Amazon return period, I requested a return. Didn’t want to tape it as one reviewer did since that may become a hot mess.

While waiting for a return, I attempted additional installs. Through trial and error, there is a “good” fit for my HP DV6, but takes several attempts to find it. The original battery is one and done.

Once in, I followed the instructions of letting it drain as close to 7% as possible a couple of times then recharging completely. I get about 4 hours of life which doubles my old “bad” battery. With that, I cancelled the return.

For $40, the expected life is at least 6 months of nearly daily use. At this time, I rate the battery 4 stars overall and will update in 6 months.

Exactly what I needed!

It is a great value compared to the $100 replacement for HP. It seems that HP doesn't regularly produce this battery anymore because it's difficult to find. My laptop computer was only costs $450 in 2011 and I've replaced the battery now 2x since I've owned it!

The battery from Anker was a little hard to fit into the HP laptop initially, but eventually it gave and went into the battery compartment. It has stayed there since. I would remove a half a star for that, but I can only rate whole stars.

Anker packaged the battery in a fitted box with logo with 2 foam pads to protect the battery which was also in a plastic protective bag. It also came with an instruction manual and a insert for customer service if you have any issues with the product (see pictured). I was very impressed.

From there, it has been working perfectly for 4 months. Honestly, if it lasts a year or more, it will be worth it. I ordered a HP battery from Staples and it was backordered for 3 months, so this is a comparable alternate if that's what you are looking for.

Just a word of advice if you are unaware: I've realized that when charging your laptop, after it reaches 100% you must unplug it and let the battery discharge so that the battery is not damaged. If you keep it continuously plugged in, it will shorten the life of the battery.

I will continue to update this review if anything changes.

Battery is good

The battery fit my HP - G42 laptop quite well. It does hold charge well for a couple of hours of continuous use, but not as good as the original HP battery when new. I dont find any issues with the anker battery. I am finally happy to be wirefree while using my laptop.

The Anker 5200mAh replacement battery (AK-90HPG62-B52A) I received for my 3 year old HP dv6t Quad Edition CTO (dv6t-6100, a version of the dv6-6000) fit perfect and weighed in at 10.9 ounces, that’s .5 oz. less than the OEM HP battery it replaced. It feels just as solid as the original. There is no manufacturing date stamped on the battery case, but when I selected the “F2- System Diagnostics” during laptop boot-up, the battery information showed a date of 5/14/2014 in the serial number, that’s about 3 months before I received it, which is well within reason.
Tested it by running the Prime95.exe “Torturer Test” (In-place large FFTs, maximum heat, power consumption…) at 50% CPU utilization (4 threads) nonstop until the laptop automatically shut down when the battery hit 5%. The result was 1 hour 9 minutes. That’s an i7-2630QM@2.00 GHz, (4 core, 8 thread) 45 watt CPU running at 50%, screen on full bright, with cooling fan mostly at mid-range, running for well over an hour. Testing at idle (0 to 1% CPU) with just full bright screen resulted in up time of 4 hours and 10 minutes.

Great Price, Great Quality!

Very happy with this order from Amazon. The old battery in my HP G62 Laptop gave out on me so I needed to order a replacement. I am fairly familiar with Anker products as I use them in my phone and other devices. I was very pleased as always with the quality of this product. It fit perfectly, wasn't too heavy, and it performs better than I expected. The battery can hold a charge for a good 3-4 hours(depending on your laptop's performance settings of course) so it can definitely handle school hours, work hours and the like. It only takes about an hour, maybe an hour and a half to charge, by my personal experience. The shipping was fast and arrived right on the estimated date. I've been using this battery for quite a while and I can safely assure you that this is a quality product, well worth your money.

Falls out of laptop

This falls out of my HP laptop. Immediately shutting down windows, leaving the disk in a bad state. After it happened once, I thought that maybe I put it in wrong. Put in in carefully and then later it happened again. At this point I very very carefully put it in, and lightly touched the laptop down on the edge of a table with the battery over the edge. It fell out.
I put the original battery back in and repeated the test. The original battery didn't fall out, even with much more force.
There isn't a reason to risk your all the data on your hard drive by getting this battery.
