Product Description

The 13.3" MacBook Air Notebook Computer (Early 2015) from Apple is an ultraportable notebook computer with a thin and lightweight design. Apple's engineers have leveraged the lessons they learned in designing the miniaturized iPad and applied them to the design of this 2.96-pound computer. To say that the Air is svelte is all at once stating the obvious and understating the truth. The system is defined by its unibody aluminum enclosure. At its thickest point the computer is only 0.68" -- it tapers down to 0.11" at its thinnest. The system is loaded with 128GB of flash storage rather than an old-fashioned hard drive.

Love this computer!

I do not write reviews for products I’ve owned for an hour or so. I like to give it some time. Sort of wring it out in my own way and see if I like it at the end of the month. Such is the case here.

REASONS FOR PURCHASE: I’ve used Windows desktops/laptops for 20 years (at least since Windows 3.1), various makes and models. When I went shopping for a new computer, I was looking for a few specific things.:

Reliability
Portability
Lightweight
and it had to be an Apple.

Why Apple? I like it when all my devices are using the same “eco-system”. I have my 2nd iPhone (just converted to smart phones a few years ago), AppleTV and an iPad. I wanted something that was more seamless in sharing data and documents between the devices. There are various Windows apps that help with this, but they just didn’t seem to be all that smooth. I knew from experience with the iPad and the iPhone that I could enter a contact, note or reminder on one and near instantaneously have it available on the other. That’s what I’m looking for.

CONFIGURATION CHOICE: I went with the 128 GB drive instead of a larger 256 GB drive, 4 GB of RAM instead of 8. I felt that if the OS was as great as Apple enthusiast claimed, this would be sufficient for my needs. I’m not a gamer. I create fairly simple documents, stream audio and video, watch movies, and the usual social interactions of e-mail, Facebook and the like. No need for me to go power mad.

I do not feel these decisions were a mistake, per se, BUT I would suggest that if you plan on having some good amounts of music and video on board with your Macbook Air, that you supplement your order with a 128 or 256 GB SDXC card.

I can't believe this is real. I'm so glad I went with my gut and purchased this computer! Amazon customer service and the vendor were both patient with my constant questioning! I recommend 1000%

Just because I know before buying a product I like to view pictures I'll post pics I took of the computer when I first received it! Thanks again Amazon :)

As a pro web developer, I have long sought to get a Mac for personal use and small coding side projects. A Linux laptop was an option, but this is the whole package- SSD and everything. Text editing/FTP to remote hosts, obviously no problem. The one thing that worried me was screen real estate, I'm used to three 20" monitors to spread out IDE, browser, and browser inspector/tools. But once I figured out the Mac keyboard shortcuts to switch between applications, its just as good as having multiple displays (seriously).

I also run the Intelli-J IDE for Java and run Apache Tomcat locally, no issues. I don't think JBoss would be a problem. Multiple IDE projects open and running at the same time- eh, you'd probably start to hit the upper limit of RAM and processing.

So for developers- don't hesitate, provided your IDE and framework of preference can run on Mac OS. I would NOT consider this for .Net development. Intelli-J for Mac OS also apparently compiles Object-C and deploys to an attached iOS device- looking forward to that.

UPDATE: A few months later and I am utterly loving this little laptop for casual web surfing, photos, working with network attached storage, sorting out my i-devices, Airplay and most of all- web development side projects. Totally awesome. Switching between desktops and applications is SO much easier than anything Windows has ever had.

The macbook air is a well made and light computer. The fit and finish are great and the screen is very nice. Setup is easy to perform with the latest MAC OS.

This computer is for people who are not real tech savvy it dose basic features email, Web browsing and word. The down side is that it has very few inputs but overall great

I bought this Macbook Air about a week ago. The shipping was super fast and the seller answered all my questions! I've always wanted a Macbook Air and was very glad to finally get one. It's very light weight and easy to carry around. Since I've always used Microsoft, I still have to get used to Yosemite but it's great overall! I 100% recommend this computer. My only real complaint is the amount of storage it comes with but you can buy more storage once you get the mac.

Fantastic purchase. The MacBook Air has a wonderful display, is light and mobile, and has the best battery life of any computer I have ever owned. Incredibly happy with my purchase and the price that I paid for it.

Best computer I have ever used...period. Very robust build, and very user friendly. I believe that people are afraid of Macs because they used to be so very different from a Windows/PC machine. However, they have integrated a Windows feel to them, and any PC user can seamlessly move to Mac, and not be susceptible to viruses and constant Windows crashes.
