I bought one of these water proof cases for my mac laptop because I live in the Northwest and its always wet out, it seemed practical. Not 4 days after getting it, two beers exploded in my backpack (punctured by the metal part of my clipboard) filling my backpack with beer. Everything is ruined except my $1200 computer is safe and sound. This little investment saved my ass big-time.

It survives the rain!

When I bought this bag, I bought it with the intent that it would protect my laptop, should I get caught in a downpour on my bike. As a college student, biking is the best way to get around, and between some of my classes, the only way to get there on time. When all of my sheet music got soaked biking back from band one day, I realized that if my laptop had been in there it would have been soaked. I didn't get this bag to go swimming with my laptop, it just needs to survive the rain. I've since been caught in another downpour, and the laptop's fine. I wholeheartedly recommend this for keeping anything dry in whatever weather you please.

It's never leaked.

I bought this to protect my 13" MacBook Pro used for marine research. I've never had the bag fully submerged, but it has had plenty of water on it and it's never leaked. The double ziplock mechanism is easy to operate (easier than most ziplock bags!) and the velcro seal adds more protection from water intrusion. Highly recommended.

Disappointment becomes 5 star Impressed

I'll get this out of the way: I ordered the case for a Mac Book pro taking a risk, but the price seemed fair. I knew I wanted it right away and expected it as a Prime order. Received word that it would be delayed. Bummer, but ok. Not so OK - 10 weeks went by and I was told that the company had stocking issues ( We're in December now) and they apologized. I cancelled my order and made do with plastic zip lock bags. I was fine and less $$.
We're at one star now.
How did Aqua Quest earn 4 more stars? By following up with the bag as a courtesy and- delivering a great product. It's handsome, an "as promised " waterproof package and very well constructed. It's too new to honestly remark on it's durability but I'd be shocked it didn't have legs there too thanks to the quality of its material and seams. So 5 stars for the laptop sleeve and 10 stars for customer relations. Highly, and I will(!), recommend.

I love it !! Haven't given it the ultimate test of a dunking with my laptop inside; but I did submerge it in a sink full of water for a few minutes with a paper inside. Works as advertised. I now feel comfortable putting the laptop inside if I need to. Do pay attention to getting both zippers securely closed, listen for a "pop" or "snap", and make sure the Velcro is closed. If possible, I would recommend having a small dry cloth or towel around when you open the case after being in/under water. This just helps to wipe up the moisture/droplets that will collect on the lip of the case, outside of the zippers. The included padded sleeve is a nice addition; but can also be removed to make the waterproof case lighter and a much smaller package if desired. Just roll it up and put a rubber band around it.

Good case, cheap seal

Haven't tested the actually waterproofness of the case but it seems very sturdy and would handle it well. Overall I liked the product, but I have to give 3 stars because not even one month into use pieces of the plastic seal has already begun to break. I'm not quite sure how long it will last at this rate.

Extra Peace of Mind

This is great for me. I like the feeling of security the waterproofness gives me if I get caught in the rain and my backpack socks through. The padding is just right: neither too much nor too little. I normally use it inside a bag with at least some amount of padding, so something like a caselogic sleeve ends up being too thick.

The only downsides are that it's a little big for my Retina MacBookPro. Most of the time that's OK, but if I'm trying to get it in a spot designed for a 13" laptop with the case on, it can be a tight fit. And there's a lot of space up at the top, even considering the need to fold over for waterproofing.

Caveat: I haven't performed a plunge test, so I can't give it 5 stars.

I bought this a year ago. We live on a sailboat and I was concerned about my MacBook having an accidental drop/slip into the water. So far this hasn't happened, but it's always protected by this sweet waterproof case. It's easy to seal up and has a secure handle to hold onto so chances are slim it will slip out of my grasp, but I have confidence by the double seal that it will come to no harm if it does get wet. I love the case and would by it again, but it's so durable, I'll have to purchase an additional computer to warrant another purchase. Great product!
