This is a awesome laptop and I am very impressed with the quality of the build and the features. I recommend for anyone thinking of getting a laptop/tablet all in one rather than having one of each.

I would have given it a 5 star rating, but the seller advertised "10/100/1000 Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN With RJ-45 connector for quick and easy wired Web connection" in the description and this laptop does not have an RJ-45 connector, It's Wireless WI-FI and Wireless Bluetooth only. This is not really a problem for me as the Dual Band WI-FI is great but the RJ-45 connector as advertised would have been nice.

UPDATE! - 07/05/15

I've been playing with the laptop for 2 days now setting everything up and installing software etc... here are a few more things about this laptop I've encountered.

1. I have to say the fact that it has a HDD rather than a SSD doesn't really bother me. It takes 10 seconds from the time you press the power button for the login screen to appear.

2. The SDHC Card Reader slot doesn't allow a SDHC Card to be fully inserted into the unit. It only goes in 1/2 way and is connected. This was likely done to save space inside the unit and to make insert and removal easier - however it's not very practical if you want to insert a SDHC card and leave it in the unit... Lets say to dedicate it to Ready Boost or just to increase storage space more. One additional thing. The SD Card slot on this laptop is 15mm deep, so you will want to checkout a Transcend JetDrive Lite 330 which is 17.5mm in length. It will work with this laptop once reformatted to use the windows file system, and only 1mm sticks out which works great.

Can't beat if its priced around $500

I am very happy with this computer. For the price I found no better laptop. The battery life is probably close to 6-7 hours of use doing picture editing 20% of time, watching videos 30% of time, and normal use the rest of time. The specs of this computer are outstanding for the price. i5, 8gb ram, 500GB HD, touch screen and more for ~$500. I find almost everything about this computer to meet or exceed my expectations, with the exception of the two cons below.

Cons
-Like many other reviewers state, the keyboard backing isn't tacked down. This makes the plastic surrounding the middle keys bow in the middle and appear raised and almost flush with the keys. This could be annoying but doesn't effect my typing at all so no real issue.
-The screen brightness at its max isn't that bright. This won't effect most uses but it would be difficult to edit pictures on it in a bright room during the day.

great comp for everyday use

I've had this computer for a few weeks now, and I love it. It's just the right size, everything is fast and works well. I don't use the flip modes all that much, mostly I keep it in typical laptop mode, but it's really nice to be able to flip it whenever your watching Netflix, or go tablet mode on a plane. I don't do much other than surf the web and do some word processing and stuff, and it is great for that. Battery life has been a steady 6+ hours so far, but I've been careful to charge it only when it gets down to 20% or less, then I only charge it up to full power then disconnect it from the wall. The computer is heavier than the Lenovos, but it feels much more sturdy, which I like.

Great for those college bound!

I bought this 2 in 1 for my daughter who starts college in August. She loves it. We originally seen this laptop at Best Buy but they did not have any in stock. She found it on Amazon and we ordered it for $120.00 less than the other store.
It came with windows 8.1 which took her awhile to get use to. She loves this laptop/tablet. It is as fast as any laptop with the added bonus of being able to convert to a tablet as well.
She has an iPad as well which gets very little use now because the ASUS is so versatile.
She loves how lightweight it is.
The laptop did not come with any virus protection, I put ESET on it and it works great.

Overall very happy with this

I did a ton of research before purchasing this. I had an ipad that just stopped working, and wanted to get a replacement --with a little more umph. Something I could use for more stuff, etc. The apple laptops would have been ideal, but couldn't shell out the bucks. So looked for a windows alternative.
Overall very happy with this; have had it a couple months. They major (only really) issue that I have is that it indeed does drop a wifi signal a little too frequently. I saw that on previous reviews, and figured it was probably a local wifi problem--and maybe it is, but it is a problem. Upgraded to windows 10 thinking that might help, but not really. It's not a deal breaker, as all you have to do is sign off wifi and sign right back on, but it is annoying. (If there is a fix to this problem Id love to know it!)
Aside from that, love how you can use the touch screen or mouse pad. I'm not a super-user, using it mainly for browsing, occasional documents, etc . Fix the wifi issue and this is a VERY good small portable laptop.

Finding a stylus was difficult, but once I found Targus I've loved this computer!! My printing is down to rarely (so I'm also saving trees), and my backpack is so much lighter b/c all I carry is this! I've had it for a couple months now, and it's awesome! I also take my hand written class notes with it!
