This is a great little laptop for the price. You can find better computers, but not many more have better overall value. The sub $200 price tag on this ASUS counts for a lot. I was personally searching for a 13 inch laptop when I found this little gem, and ended up getting one for my wife from a physical store because I had a gift card to that store that covered the full price.

I don't know if I'd want to do business work all day on this machine simply due to the 11 inch screen, but for nightly web browsing, watching a video, and the occasional Word document it's OUTSTANDING. It will even do nicely for watching a movie if you're on a plane or in the car (probably not as a driver or pilot. Check your local laws before using while operating machinery). It would also make a very nice machine for a student to take to class due to it's portability and ultra quite running.

░░░░░THE GOOD░░░░░

❖ The Screen. The display is a decent display. It's not full HD, but on an 11 inch screen you hardly notice. It's a very nice display for the price point. You can get a better display on other machines, but you're going to pay a lot more for it as well. If HD or better resolution is a must, this isn't the machine for you. If affordable is a must, this screen will be just fine.

❖ Portability. The thing is tiny is every direction. It's ultra portable. It's light weight. It fits into just about any carrying case.

❖ Battery life. It lasts forever. Well okay, maybe not forever. But a darn long time. You'd be hard pressed to wear the battery completely down in a single day. It's rated for 12 hours of battery life. It means it.

❖ Keyboard. My wife has smaller hands so the smaller keyboard is great for her. She loves it.

For $180 it's a steal! Remember: It's not a powerhouse but a decent little everyday mini laptop for everyday purposes. Small, very light/portable, way more battery life than most of its peers and/or tablets of this size etc, etc. My 5 years old son can play Minecraft on it without any hickups and the rest of his casual games too the ones that doesn't need too much computing power. Every single summer we fly back to Europe to see the kids grandparents and the rest of our families and I can tell you that this little thing can comfortably be used/played on a flip down seat table on any airplane for long ours. Better than a tablet because it already has a really good physical keyboard. Let me ask the same question I asked from myself before I decided to go and buy this one. Would you buy a stand for your newly bought tablet? Of course you would.... Would you wanna have a physical keyboard with that great new stand if you have to type in things or emailing frequently? Of course you would.... Now you have to pay an extra 40-50 bucks in order to get that. It's all in one package if you by a netbook/notebook like this.....for $180!!! Last note: I wanted to have something that was as portable as an average tablet, but actually works for very long ours and bears all the basic capabilities of my more powerful home desktop computer. Very last note: A top of the line smartphone can cost you $600-700, right? You have to have one of those of course so you'll accept that price ina blink of an eye and you go and buy one every 2 years or so. Not to compare the two different product categories but as a raw product of this size, functionality, built in material this little laptop would cost you less than a third of any decent smartphone!!! Worth every penny!!!!

So, I’ve been on a sort of computer journey over the past several years. It started when my Unibody 2009 Macbook started to get extremely slow last year and my old Netbook finally failed on me. At the same time, Intel revealed the new Atom chips and 2-in-1 Laptop concept, which intrigued me. Since I travel a lot, I was looking for something small and light that didn’t contain much power, since I already had a Gaming PC that I built.

At the forefront was the Asus T100 laptop at just $350. Seemed like the perfect compromise…until you realized that the whole experience was a compromise fest. The keyboard was relatively junky. Felt relatively heavy when combined, and keys WAYY too small and difficult to press on. The touch pad was horrific and small. As a tablet, I never felt like using it due to its 16:9 aspect ratio.

In the end, it collected dust.

Bought an Acer c720 Chromebook at $160, which was a steal for the tech you got. Very powerful Chromebook. But….its a Chromebook. I used Crouton to install XFCE Ubuntu, which was great…until you realize you have a ridiculously low amount of storage of 10GB before you even install your first application. Plus, it was unstable and required to be redone several times, where I lost a few documents I needed in the process. Too unstable for a real work laptop.

Decided to bite the $$$ bullet and try an 11” Macbook Air when it was on sale at Black Friday for $800. Originally, it was awesome. Replaced my Macbook for iOS coding on Xcode. Extremely light, extremely powerful…it was perfect..until the display started getting me dizzy every time I was using it.
