I had this product for about 2 weeks, was happy except it would give out sometimes. Then, about 10 minutes ago, I woke up to the smell of something burning. I looked around, and this ac adapter was melting. I picked it up by the cord (It was too hot to pick up by the box) and threw it outside. I went to look at it, and it looked like a puddle. It melted and I am not sure why. I had it out on a hard surface and everything. I don't use it much only when I have schoolwork, and tonight I only had it plugged in for about an hour. This product is crappy and I would not recomend anyone waste their money on it. It will literally melt away.

Doesn't Fit the HP DV7000

I can't say if the product works or not, but it doesn't work for the HP DV7000 model, the plug is too large, so for those that are thinking the DV7 series includes this, there is another plug that fits it. It will cost me more to ship it back to the company than I paid in product cost. Just a live and learn.

Will update if there is a change for the worse but for now, GREAT buy! P.S. Don't panic if you receive a 70W rated cord instead of 65W. That is just more leeway for you...

Not another cheap charger

I bought this to replace another cheap charger that I bought off of here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026LQZP0/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details). I was worried that I would have the same problem with this charger that I did with the other one. The other charger worked great for a few months, and then just died. It was apparently not getting enough charge to my laptop because as soon as it died, my laptop's battery began to drain way too quickly.

With this charger, I haven't had any problems. I bought it around three months ago, and it has worked great so far. When I take my laptop off of the charger (which I do more frequently now), it lasts as long as it did with the original charger. I definitely recommend this with the HP Pavillion dv4 laptop (listed here, specifically: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-customizable-Notebook-Processor/dp/B00393WKO4/ref=sr_1_33?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1329951171&sr=1-33).

I would even buy one of these if you are getting a new laptop such as the one above. The original charger wore very quickly, and this charger is cheap enough, and it works just as well as the original. If I have any problems, I'll be sure to update my review.

UPDATE for 7/2013: The charger ended up dying and I bought a "real" HP adapter that has lasted this long (it is now 7/2014) because it was the only thing I could find in the store. However, had I had a choice, I probably would have bought the cheap one again. For the price, it lasts quite a while and I don't have to pay $70 to replace it.

Overall, the item was okay. It did not fit into my laptop, so it was unable to charge, but luckily I had another piece from a previous AC Adapter that fit into the other piece and connected to my laptop.

Not compatible with listed computers

WARNING - Not enough power to charge the battery of my Dell XPS m1530, even though the product title used to list this as a compatible adapter (before I complained).

The key point is: be aware they're guessing at compatibility...search the reviews to see if it specifically says it's compatible with your computer before wasting your time.

Also, the one I received looked nothing like the picture; mine was all black. Based on the pictures and reviews, it seems they may have changed the part that's actually being sold under this listing 2+ times.
