This Bamboo Laptop Computer Desk & Serving Bed Tray is a simple, yet well-made piece of furniture. It's small in size, but lends itself to be a perfectly sized tray, small work desk or bed serving tray without taking much space in the closet when not in use.

The bamboo is nicely finished and thick, yet not heavy at all. The main part of the tray easily tilts up and adjusts to several positions, working well as a child's drawing desk or reading stand for books, magazines or coloring books.

The quality is better than expected and the finish is smooth, without being overdone and glossy smooth.

A nice feature of this desk is the small pull-out drawer on the right side of the table. It can hold pencils, art supplies, or even condiments and small remote controls if used in that way.

The table stand has several pre-set positions which should be good for almost anything you need. When not set in an upright position, a magnetic closure keeps the table-top from inadvertently coming open. The magnet is strong enough for the intended task, but if help upside down, don't expect it to hold for very long.

There is a small catch bar at the bottom of the table to hold materials when it is tilted upright, but it can easily be removed when not needed. It sits loosely in two pre-drilled holes at the base of the tabletop surface.

The drawer is nice and slides out of a pre-cut hole. It's simple in construction, but stays nicely hidden away under the lip of the table when not in use. Like most drawers without rails/slider hardware, it can be finicky at times since it moves loosely without guidance to keep it straight.

96 year old uses it to read in nursing home - he loves it!,

We bought two of these. One for our home to use with evening reading and sketching and one for our 96 year old father-in-law who is in a nursing home. He loves it!

He is still sharp minded but physically weak. Before, he would be able to hold his favorite old Reader's Digest books and magazines for only about 10 minutes. Now, he leans his arms on the bookstand flipping the pages and is more content to read for longer periods of time.

His fabulous care-giving nursing home liked this so much, they ordered a couple more for other patients. They liked that it folded up and easy to store out of the way with his belongings. For him this worked better than one of those rolling hospital serving trays. It would be good to first check with a nursing home to see if they would allow this to be added into their nursing environment.

This is of good quality construction, relatively light weight and no assembly required. The lid is adjustable and when stored is magnetically latched so it does not fly open. The side drawer is very handy for eyeglasses, pencil and notepad. The legs easily adjust to be higher/lower or will fold completely underneath the main body of the tray. The ecological bamboo wood is handsome and finely finished with a neutral stain.

Highly recommend.

The "Bamboo Multi-Position Adjustable Laptop Computer Desk & Serving Bed Tray With Drawer" is much more than its lengthy product name indicates. This well made, sturdy item can also be an excellent desktop for children during long car trips. Not only that, when the legs are completely folded, it still provides a smooth, flat surface for individuals who prefer to remain seated in a comfortable chair.

Constructed of bamboo, a sustainable product, the surface and sides of the laptop desk/tray have no rough edges. The face panel of drawer on the right side has slightly rough, short sides due to the nature of end-grain woods. A coat of polyurethane or varnish will solve this minor defect. The interior of the drawer measures 4 ¾" in length X 5" in width X 7/8" in depth. It did not slide smoothly, but some silicone spray or wax should correct that issue.

Plastic washers, placed between the nut and the bamboo, demonstrate the quality inherent in this item. Finger joints are another construction technique indicating this item is not something that was thrown together.

When the legs are extended and at their lowest setting, the interior footprint of the "Bamboo Multi-Position Adjustable Laptop Computer Desk & Serving Bed Tray With Drawer" is 21". The height of the desk is 8 ½' at this setting; there is 7" of space beneath the desktop's lower edge for the user's legs. When the desktop/tray's legs are fully extended, the unit's interior footprint is 22 ½" and the height of the desktop is 11 7/8"; there is 10 1/2" of space under the desk. Plastic covers protect the user when adjusting the wing nuts that allow the legs to extend.Read more ›

Exactly what I need

I've just received it. I love it!! It looks more sophisticated than in the picture. The legs can be adjusted to be longer; the bar on the face can be removed if needed; it's very lightweight and easy to carry around, but sturdy and firm even when standing on my bed with a soft mattress and bulky comforter. I'm using it right now and can't be more satisfied!!!
