I've had no previous experience with laptop cooling pads so I pretty much went by the reviews here and elsewhere on the Net. I have a 4 year old Dell Vostro that I mostly use plugged in because of the length of time it's running every day. I've noticed lately that it has been getting quite hot to the touch and had rigged a Mickey Mouse tilt using my mechanical drawing ruler. I do a lot of photo work, editing, copying, moving, etc., so I started looking here on Amazon to see my choices. Well, I ordered this pad and it came a day earlier than expected. Simple to set up and easy to use. The on/off switch is good to have when the laptop is sleeping and the fans aren't needed. The extension feet are perfect and the fans are very quiet. My Dell is no longer hot to the touch, in fact it hardly gets warm except when and where I rest my palms around the touch pad. Since it is new I cannot attest to the longevity but so far this is exactly what I needed and don't know why I hadn't thought about it before now. Thanks to all of you who took the time to register your feelings and reviews of this unit.

I was having problems with my laptop that I felt were due to overheating. Rather than buying a new laptop, I decided to try this stand. It works wonderfully! My laptop quit acting up & I know it will last a lot longer. An added bonus is the slight angle that the stand puts on the laptop. I saved a lot of money by buying the stand instead of a new laptop. I am very happy with my purchase.

I love it. It keeps my laptop much cooler than without it, almost a 22 degree difference. My processor temp is normally about 142 without it, and when it's on it never goes over 120, even when im using Solid Works. It's lightweight, hardly uses any battery power, it's super quiet, and the blue led lights are very subtle and not annoying or distracting. A+!

Hey, it looks sharp, though I have to admin it's the only thing gold colored in the entire room. Most equipment is either white (Apple stuff) or black (Asus and Dell) or silver / grey. So it's a bit odd, but that's OK.

The issue is that as a laptop cooling assistant, the fan position is well away from the intake on my laptop. If the fans reached higher up on the device that would be great, though the airflow is low, it doesn't need to be a lot, but it's not in the right place at all. Consequently, it has not helped at all. I purchased a competitive unit that has worked out much better.

Nevertheless, I give it 2 stars, because it's a great pad to stand my modem, router and other devices on that will just sit over the fan in the middle and get some needed minimal airflow.

I got this for my Macbook Pro because I do a lot of photo editing in Lightroom & Photoshop. My computer just gets sooo hot; I had resorted to having it sit on ice packs while I worked. With this, my computer stays cool even after a few hours of work & the fans are whisper quiet. It emits a pretty blue light & I love that it has adjustable feet underneath. I am very happy!
