No switching regulator harmonics suppression, LED is dead, typos

The product seemed to work just fine at home and with minimal problems (green LED not working). The only reason I bought it was the really good reviews on amazon and of course the price. AI am an electrical engineer and electromagnetic interference (EMI) plays an important role on my bench, i.e. I want to have minimal EMI. Today, I plug in the charger and charge my laptop and noticed huge pulses on my scope (see attached) which have a period of ~20usec. This means (99%) that the switching regulator is not filtered properly (VERY poor design) and it introduces huge spurious signals on the powerlines, "killing" my instrumentation.

Once I noticed this, I also read the warning signs on the side that say:
WARNING:
1) this device may not cause harmful interference,
2) This device may acceptany inte rference receivde including interference that may cause undasired operatio (No I havent made a typo, they did)

All in all the fact that they didn't minimize the switching regulator problems and the typos indicate EXTREMELY poor design which WILL cause problems with your battery on the long run or any other problems you can think of, including huge caps exploding in your face (not kidding)

Long story short:
1) It works
2) It is not going to work for long annd most importantly the weak EMI suppression indicates poor design which WILL cause damage to the battery
3) I cannot use it on my bench due to EMI. I am asking for refund
4) Oh, also the green LED worked once and it died.

Great product for a great price

I was really skeptical while looking for a macbook pro charger, but this one is honestly the best. It looks and works the exact same as a regular Apple charger, it just doesn't have the apple logo on it. Both the orange and green light on it work perfectly and it charges at the same speed. No problems so far. Would definitely recommend this charger, especially with the great price.

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro; Model: A1278 for those of you wondering.

Didnt work out of the box

Didn't work the moment I plugged it in on either of my macbooks. My multimeter was showing no volts on this piece of junk. Plus, it arrived late since the seller took their time sending it out.

Amazon refunded me and told me to keep it, so I opened up the charger and saw one of the leads was not soldered to the plug at all (see picture). There was a drop of solder on the lead, but it doesn't look like the child worker pressed it into the plug. Also, the warning on the outside of the case is the most horrendous English I've ever seen. I resoldered the lead back into place and it is charging... for now.

If yours doesn't work, get your refund and open the case up. I simply flipped open both of the little tabs, stuck needle nose pliers in there, and pulled it open by pulling the plier handles apart. It came apart easily since, you know, it is a POS. I duct taped mine closed again.

Well what is there to say except this. It did not work. Specifically, the charger connect to my Macbook Pro intermittently at best. Wen it did which involved much fiddling and shaking at the connection from the wall outlet into the unit itself because the connection at the adapter itself was loose. When it did make contact, the unit made a buzzing sound. Just like anything electrical would make before it might catch fire. I immediately unplugged it from the wall outlet and arranged for a refund.

Works but doesn't work

The charger I received was defective. It connected to my laptop but I had to wiggle it around to get it to connect. Once it connected it did charge my laptop and charged it quickly. I kept it a week because I desperately needed a charger to finish a big project for school. After a week, and the completion of my project, I returned it. During the week I had it, sometimes it connected right away once plugged in and other times had to be moved around to get it to connect. I also noticed that the green light on it didn't always turn off when you unplug it from the laptop. The light would turn orange while charging and green when charged, but once green, the light wouldn't kick off at all when I unplugged from the laptop. I always had to unplug it from the wall immediately after taking it off the laptop.

Honestly, this is probably one of the worse chargers Ive ever had. Im talking about OVERALL, like including Micro USB cables from China. I bought this 3 days ago and just got it today (WORD) Finally charged my laptop at the house. Then, came back home to charge my laptop again. No light! Switched outlets, still no light! Unplugged the attachments and put in the old one from Apple. Still no light! I need a new charger, I had my laptop for 5 years so its not worth getting an official Apple one.

This is a pretty low-quality adapter

This is a pretty low-quality adapter. The cord itself seems thin and not very durable, and the little rubber clip that's used to secure the cord to itself when you wrap it up did not work at all, thus you have no way of keeping the cord wrapped up when not in use. The plastic elbow clips did not flip out very well either, and felt like they were going to break. Ended up returning this unit and spending a couple bucks more for the apple adapter.
