Solid product and price to boot.

I come from a living situation where all residents either own or have used an MSI product, I am evaluating this product in relation to the Apple MacBook Pro. I have used this product daily for over 9 months now.
Here is my evaluation of the MSI Cx61 Gaming Laptop:
* Display
With its 15.6” monitor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 920M 2GB DDR3 graphics card, this laptop has enough space to display 2 different tabs relatively well on each half of the screen. Because of the graphics card, even high intensive games such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike G.O., and H1Z1 run smoothly at around 80 fps. The monitor is well lit and visually appealing with no hints of deterioratiion (i.e. StainGate). The HDMI port makes this laptop dual-screen compatible but may have issues finding the correct resolution for your second monitor.
* Weight
This product is approximately 5.3 pounds. This is significantly heavier than the MacBook Pro or most Netbooks on the market but, with a 750 GB hard drive and 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 (not to mention its other specs), this little hiccup is certainly worth it and in all reality you may never pay it much mind.
* Track Pad
Not much to say here. The track pad is smooth and comes with many of the handy features that come with Windows 8. Scrolling is easy and the position allows you to type without any hindrance of hitting the trackpad.
* Speed & Performance
Honestly, this product runs faster and cleaner than anything I’ve used before. Boot up is relatively slow (20-30 seconds) but if put on sleep mode then it is a 5 second start up. As previously mentioned in the Display section, this machine can handle highly intensive games with ease.Read more ›

A very robust laptop!

I bought this as a gift for my nephew because he wanted to upgrade from an older MSI laptop before starting collage next month. He wanted to stay with MSI not only because of its specs but also because of the quality of its robust construction. Therefore, after searching Amazon.com and other sites, I choose Computer Upgrade King because of the options they offered over the base model. The cost of the upgrades was extremely cost effective -and there are no left over parts cluttering up a drawer! Plus there would be no worrying about glitches during the upgrade. Everything worked right out of the box. My nephew is ecstatic over his new toy! Finally, when they announce recess, I know this thing will rock through just about anything so he can recharge his mind before his next class.
