Power for my laptop in Israel

For a recent trip to Israel, I didn't want to fool with goofy adapters or plugs to power my laptop, so I purchased this cord. The power cord worked flawlessly, and I had zero issues whatsoever during my trip. As a side benefit, the cord also fit my Apple iPad USB power adapter, so I was able to use it with that as well.

Note: Make sure your power supply is 120-240v compatible before using this cable. Thankfully, most electronic devices are compatible with both voltages, but it's important to check, just in case.

Good length and high quality

I travel a lot across european countries, so having "their" cable was not bad idea, considering the fact, that cable that was included with my HP laptop was short (2 feets maybe) and very thick (friends were joking - oh, you carry welding cables with you?). This one is much longer, thinner and flexible.

cable breaks

Received quickly, worked initially as described - simple swiss version power plug that interfaces with thinkpad figure8 power adapters.

However cable is evidently of poor quality - plastic joint between plug and cable as broken and revealed the copper (dangerous) after only two months of use.

the 220v prongs are too big for some sockets in Italy .. they are larger than normal and the cable overall is very thick guage.. not a very good product for foreign laptop travel... better to go with an adapter as long as your PS is rated for 100-230v or the like....

Works with Thinkpads power bricks

Works with the Thinkpad power brick. I prefer this to the regular adapters because I can put this on my laptop's power source before the trip and I never have to worry about misplacing/forgetting the dang power adapters. Plus it makes is much easier not having to figure out how to plug some power stack contraption and keep it from disconnecting in various outlets. And it is shorter in size than the regular US power cord with adapter, meaning it has a chance of fitting in more hotel room power outlets, which for some reason are always located behind some unmovable nightstand with about half an inch of space to spare for plugging in stuff.

Excellent way to power a laptop or other electronics

I've been very pleased with this cord. It fits the standard laptop or other electronic device's power adapter figure 8 shape.
Having spent considerable time in Europe and Asia, I needed two of these to power my stuff. I didn't want to resort to using a senseless converter/adapter, which tend to be more expensive than this more elegant solution.

Power cord to take along to Europe

It is good quality but a little too stiff. Works with laptops and some appliances that use the same power connector. Still, I am not certain I will prefer this next time over a simple little power adapter on the original power cable of the laptop. Also, this connector is not standard for many laptop brands, so one should pay attention before purchasing. Again, stiffness is the only issue I can recall.

Cable broke at notebook end

While it worked it was great. But I used it for a few months and then the end that goes into the notebook power supply had the outer insulation layer break revealing the two insulated wires underneath. I decided to throw it away at that point.

So for a short trip to Europe it will likely be okay. But for day to day use, I don't think I can recommend it.
