Excellent quality

This backpack is super cute. Made with heavy duty 100% cotton canvas it is made to last for years to come. No detail was spared on this, from the precise stitching to the extra soft padded shoulder straps. I the backpack uses a D- ring to adjust the straps, this makes it so much easier to get the perfect fit, plus since the D-ring is metal no need to every worry about it breaking compared to traditional plastic buckles. Even the zippers are extra heavy duty.

The backpack is equipped with lots of storage. On each side there are small pockets great for water bottles etc, but what makes this part really cool is that it has an adjustable snap hook that will help it stay secure. On the front there is a huge flap that opens up to expose 2 inner pockets. These pockets will fit papers and notebooks quite well. Upon unzipping the main area you will see a good size personal zipper area, this is great for storing keys,personal belongings and phones. There is also an inner open pocket that I like to use for my laptop. It keeps it secured inside. The main area is quite large, fits a good size binder as well as my laptop. I was sent this for review purposes.

Pack It Along in Style

I love this bag. The canvas, I chose the brown color, is very heavy duty and has a retro look and feel. There is a large zipper compartment with a soft nylon lining which is quite big enough for any 15" laptop. My Asus X533M fit with room to spare. Zipping the bag closed with my laptop which is no lightweight by any means was not a problem. I ,carefully of course, held and shook the bag by the carry handle, the shoulder straps and the even side pockets with my laptop onboard and all the seams held nicely.
Other pockets for accessories, gear, cables, etc. on the pack a small zipper pocket inside the main laptop compartment as well as another half compartment pocket in the laptop area. Under the large flap that covers the back of the pack and is held down by two magnetic snaps are two generous snap closured pockets. On the sides are two pockets suitable for water bottles or other beverages. These pockets are resizable with a strap and two snaps which are set a few inches apart.
The brown canvas is so very attractive with darker brown strapping and brown contrast edging on the shoulder straps. There are also dark leather pulls on the laptop compartment and a decorative leather patch with the slogan "Taste Emoton On One's Way" Really, I checked twice, I don't get it but it's enigmatic enough to be clever. I'm guessing they mean 'Emotion.'
One small note about the shoulder straps. The pack continues its retro styling on the pack using an old style double chrome ring strapping system to adjust the shoulder strap length. Make sure these are taunt when you use the shoulder straps. This isn't anything against the pack. I was actually pleased to see them stay with the retro styling all around.

Video and Written Examination of Three Criteria

I traveled domestically and internationally as a teen... then I had a Navy career. Airline travel and Naval Warship deployments, so I have run the gamut of travel conditions and bags. My personal criteria are a) durability (which includes stitching quality), b) pocket size/placement (having too few or even too many can be a hassle), and c) carrying comfort and versatility.

A) Durability: Quality canvas exterior with a slightly crinkly, strong and, not to be underestimated, liquid resistant plastic lining. Had to snips some thread tufts, and one of the interior pockets has a messy stitch pile in the center, but all critical stress points are covered (handle, back straps, pocket lips, etc). I do have some concern over the interior lining keeping its stitching over time as the connecting threads are single stitches. This is an inherent issue with all dual linings, and a double stitch would certainly done far better. The canvas promises to "weather" nicely over time for that timeless look, and (important to many) zero funny smells.

b) Pocket Placement / Sizing: Simple in terms of pockets, but strategically placed. Only one interior zippered, and an unsecured pocket on the other side with the center being quiet roomy for textbooks. The bottom does help hold the shape of the bag in a standing position. Two exterior pockets covered by a large magnet snap-button flap, each of the smaller ones are still quite generously, and practically, sized, each with their own push snap-buttons. Two side pockets probably best suited for water bottles, being open with snaps to tighten the diameter.

c) Carrying Comfort and Versatility: You are going to have to take into account the double, chunky half-rings when adjusting the straps. Even empty, the rings pressed into my pectoral.Read more ›

My New Favorite backpack

First: I got this backpack as a sample
For a honest review. Now with that being said.
Here's my opinion/Review

I received the backpack last week so I figured let me
Use it for a couple of days before I review it.
I've been using it everyday. And I love it. Before I got this
Bag. I have a Oakley kitchen sink bag top of the line but sometimes its just to bulky for me. This bag is awesome 🙆. It's light. Great quality & light on the shoulders. Especially after a long days work. I would recommend this backpack to everyone. Thanks
