Decent everyday backpack, but could be better

This backpack is a very nice laptop/bookbag for everyday use.

Notable features of this backpack:

- Back compartment holds up to a 15.6" laptop, plus files, papers, folders, etc. It easily fits my MacBook Pro 15 inch retina display, plus my working files.
- Main compartment has a sleeve for your 10" tablet (stores my iPad 4 quite well), which sits right next to the laptop compartment so that it all the weight is close to your back
- There is a top loading small zippered pocket. This can hold your phone, sunglasses, small change purse, etc. I use it for my lip balm and coin wallet.
- The lumbar padding on the lower portion of the backpack that goes against your back also has a hidden pocket to protect small valuables. I used this to keep my flight itinerary, just as an easy access without going through the rest of the backpack.
- Front pocket panel provides basic organization for small daily accessories. I use it for my pens, charging cables, and powerbar storage.
- Pass through along the back panel easily slips over the handle of rolling luggage. This helped with my recent trip, where I rolled my backpack on my check-in luggage as I ran through the airport to make a connecting flight.
- Side pockets can accomodate a water bottle; or you can store your MP3 inside and easily thread your headphones through the designated slot
- Top and bottom grab handles assist easy loading into daily storage and overhead bins

What I don't like:

There is a lack of significant padding on the bottom of the backpack. I have to be very careful setting this backpack down on the ground, so I end up putting it on a padded chair or on the couch. I also wished there were more color options.

Overall, a decent backpack.

What a great Backpack!
Case Logic has so many nice products and this is yet another wonderful item!

*I like that this backpack is light and not heavy like others. It is padded very well to protect electronic items(laptop up to 15.6" and tablet up to 10.1").
*It is also padded and comfortable on the shoulder straps and back of the bag. It is quite comfortable to wear. It is sewn well and made of sturdy material.
*The bag has lots of pockets and I really like the two, larger interior zippered pockets that keep my important items in place and a little more protected. There is one mesh zippered pocket near the laptop slot and another sturdy zippered pocket in the outermost area, near where pens, keys, and other small items go.

**There is a spot for a water bottle, a pocket for a music player(with headphone hole), a sun-glass pocket on top, and even a slightly hidden pocket for "secret storage" or a passport pocket.**

A few other things that are cool about this bag are the luggage strap and the double handles. The extending luggage handle slides up and through a strap. This secures the backpack to the luggage handle and holds it easily and conveniently on top of luggage. I have really enjoyed this feature! The double handles mean that there is a handle to grab your backpack on both the top of the bag and the bottom of it. When you put your bag up into a plane storage bin, under a seat, or on a shelf, you can grab it easily from both ends.

Highly recommend!

Good bag with minor limitations - with 1 year update.

Good quality bag, but has limitations..
I used a similar Case Logic bag daily for about three years, was very happy with it, but its zippers were beginning to open unassisted, so chose this to replace it...

PROS
Hidden passport pocket
Padded laptop/tablet pocket
Zippered internal pockets
Comfortable to wear
Grab straps top and bottom
Side pockets for water bottle and iPhone
Top pocket for sunglasses

CONS
Exterior zippers only extend halfway down the sides of the main pockets, making it unnecessarily difficult to organize the pockets. If they extended down to the bottom of the compartment, it is easier to see and adjust the contents of the pockets
One of the internal pockets would be better if divided into two smaller pockets.

1 YEAR UPDATE - The backpack has held up through a year of being regularly abused and still is fully functional and useful. I have worked around some of the storage issues by adding small zippered bags for the various items I need to carry.

Nearly perfect

These are my experiences with this laptop backpack:

Likes: What I like about the backpack is that it has numerous pockets for the things that you need to carry with you -especially, and most importantly- your laptop. I also like that there are additional pockets to store your pens, phone, ipod, headphones, tablet, etc. in the backpack. That's very useful. I like the cushioning on the back of the backpack, great for your back. It feels nice and comfortable.

Dislikes: What I dislike about the backpack, is that they didn't really make a "dedicated" pocket just for your laptop charger(s). The included tag does not show (out of all places in the backpack) where to store your laptop charger. I also don't like that this backpack is heavier than other similar backpacks. This is probably due to the sturdy fabric used. The last thing that I don't like about the backpack is that there is a small strap/handle at the very end of the backpack to carry it upside down or on its side. That feature did not make much sense to me.

In sum, if you want a good quality backpack to store your laptop and electronics, then this is the backpack for you. Its good points outweigh the negative ones, in my opinion.

More thoughts after using backpack more::

This is a very nice, high quality pack. Even the zippers are coated and slide smoothly. Inside, the pack has many pockets and lined with a contrasting tape. On the outside, there is a red contrasting tape with unsewn areas, perfect to attach things.
