Working great with my HP EliteBook 8470p

I was leery about getting other than an HP adapter to use while in the car (for example, listening to audio-books -- downloaded from YouTube -- while traveling long distances). Some of this concern resulted from a feature of the HP adapter that allowed the charging of the laptop's battery to be controlled. (Reviewers differed as to whether this capability was a feature or a defect. <g>) The Pwr+ charger also puts out about 1/2 volt less juice than the OEM A/C adapter.

No worries now.

This charger feels like OEM ... robust, sturdy, and well-designed.

The EliteBook 8470p BIOS and power-management circuitry control the battery's charging whether the power comes from the OEM A/C adapter, or the PWR+ DC adapter. So there's no difference (from the laptop's perspective) with respect to the 'better' source of power.

Great product, works also well with isolated car batteries. I am using it with a solar panel charging a car battery and provides reliable power for my computer. It already works well in the car. The shipment was fast and decent packaging as well.
